I Dare You

((wow that title... this is for Sylipha (did I spell that right?) Alkaia and Eos but others can join if ya' want.... =3=))

Eos stood in his corner and sulked. He didn't even want to be at the stupid asinine dance for teenagers. But Morph had stuffed him in a tunic and forced him to, saying something about meing a mentor and responsibility on the way.

He saw the nasty librarian coming toward him and regretted choosing to stand in the corner, he had nowhere to run. Just the other day she had called him a lot of not so nice names, and rude and useless.

Sylipha grinned evilly."Why hello there, Mr. Eos. What are doing over here all by yourself? Can't find anyone who'd dance with you?" Sylipha snickered.

[Eos]

In his mind Eos ran out of the room screaming.

But in realility he showed no emotion, just stood stareing as the Gorgon so rudely implied things.

"Hello Sylipha, looking lovely today as usual," he said it as serious as he could, she could hear it sarcastic if she wanted to. "The dance is for the warriors, let them have it."

"There's no rule saying that Mentors can't dance too. Or are you worried that no one would want to dance with someone like you?" Sylipha smirked.

"Alkaia is all by herself. Why don't you ask her to dance? Unless, of course, you're not man enough to ask an Amazon to dance?..." Sylipha snickered.

Alkaia stood off to the side, far away from the students and other mentors. There was a goblet of water in her hand, seeing as she refused to drink much alcohol. After all, that's what led to poorly made choices. She had been forced to go, since she skipped out on the last one, and apparently it was to be a 'great learning experience' when it came to dealing with people, especially men; in her opinion, it was a load of bull. The Mentor rolled her eyes at a couple dancing and turned to walk out onto one of the balconies. When would it just be over already?

Eos glared at her for a few seconds.

"Alkaia, the mentor with the blue hair right? I'm not afraid of Amazons..."

((he's really not, he's a Spartan demigod, he fears nothing))

"Then what are you waiting for? She just went out on one of the balconies. Go ask her to dance..."

[Eos]

Eos took a deep breathe and walked toward the balcony, he really wasn't afraid of the Amazon, he just knew how much they hated men... and he happened to be a man.

He found her leaning on the rail, staring out into the sky.

"Alkaia, right? I'm the new mentor of Zeus, I don't think I've introduced myself yet..."

Alkaia was wondering what her lady Athena was doing. She blinked and looked over at the voice, her eyes instantly turning icy and her body rigid. "What do you want?" she snapped. It was probably the new mentor, but since she found out it was a male, she didn't listen to anything having to do with him. The Amazon turned to face him fully, and crossed her arms, looking rather intimidating with the shadows cast over her from the moon.

"Well? Speak. Either that or get lost," she told him, her tone harsh.

[Eos]

Eos stared at Alkaia flabbergasted, yes this was deffinetly a man hating Amazon.

"I figured since you're the mentor of Athana, you would know how she is, I mean she's probably fine seeing as how she's a goddess but, I mean, how is she?" He tried hard to think of something to make her like him even a little before he asked her to dance.

Alkaia raised a brow. "And why would you care how my goddess is?" she asked. "After all, she's one of the three virgin goddesses, so vile creatures like you shouldn't bother asking about her."

With that being said, Alkaia turned and looked up at the sky again. She'd been to these stupid dances before when she was a student, but thinking about it only brought back bad memories. She gripped the railing tightly, but forced her hands to relax. She then noticed he was still there and frowned. "What do you want?" she asked him without turning. "Since you won't get lost, I assume you definitely want something."

[Eos]

"I care because your goddess is the diety I care about the most, she helped me when I was young and stupid. She's helped me again in battle when I needed it most." He didn't want to get into the details, those were memories he didn't particularly want to revisite, but he'd never forget Athena.

[Guest]

Alkaia ignored him. She didn't care much about that. "You didn't answer me," she stated. "What do you want?" It was obvious she was getting irritated, just from the tone in her voice.

"Well I was thining about asking you to dance..." he decided she didn't appreciate him beating around the bush.

Meanwhile, Tahi had foregone her usual dramatic entrance into the dance in favor of sneaking in a small side door. But given her new status as a mentor, Tahi wanted to try and show a little maturity. Emphasis on little. It still was a party, ripe with all the things she loved about parties: dancing, drama, romance and gossip - and Tahi wasn't going to let the opportunity to have fun slip by. Someone had to be the fun one - seeing as many of the mentors tended against liking parties. And as an added bonus Kal was nowhere to be seen, which meant she could actually flirt for once, without having to worry if the boy in question was going to 'disappear' for a little while after she left him alone.

A small frown crossed Tahi's face. While it was true that her brother hated parties - he still went to them. No - he was definitely avoiding her - and something was up. Tahi just didn't know what - something she was unaccustomed to feeling. Usually she knew everything there was to know about the athenaeum - with her talent for listening on the winds....

She walked into the ballroom and noticed a few of the mentors and staff in the corner. That crotchety old librarian was taunting a man she didn't recognize - who left to the balcony where she knew Alkaia - Athena's amazon mentor was hiding from the party. Tahi grinned. Sylphia was up to her old tricks to be sure. The gorgon hated men. Hated them. And sending one to Alkia was the equivalent of sending him to be bashed with a wooden club. Tahi sighed. Someone should probably rescue the mystery man before Alkia actually hurt him...

She walked by Slyphia, raising her eyebrows and giving the gorgon an 'I-know-what-you-did' look, and positioned herself in the balcony doorway, listening as the man asked Alkaia to dance. Tahi whistled softly. "Someone's got a deathwish." She muttered. "Don't beat him up too much Alkaia - I doubt he's worth it."

Alkaia froze up and turned, looking up at him in bewilderment and anger. "Why the hell would I want to dance with someone like you?!" she snapped angrily. She then caught Mnem's gaze from inside, and she sighed. "Whatever...apparently I can't be 'rude' tonight...," she muttered, clenching her hands tightly. "Even though I'd much rather get my weapon and smack you around instead."

((She will if Alkaia gets violent - but she also thinks dealing with men is good for Alkaia so if Alkaia's nice - Tahi will disappear into the background. However this is only while she doesn't know who Eos is - Tahi's father is a high ranking Nephelae General for Zeus and the fact that she and her older brother are both warriors of Hestia has caused quite a bit of tension between her and anyone from Zeus. As soon as she finds out Eos is Zeus' she'll have her guard up and be less likely to save him))

"Ok, ok." He said trying to get Alkaia a little more calm. "I got the hint," he said sadly and backed up, tail between his legs ((uhm... oh right he's not a puppy, I forgot)) He wondered if it still count if he asked her, but couldn't get her to dance... It probably wouldn't to Sylipha.

Edit: Looking it out of the program, I think I got some minuscule lines for the legs wrong. RAGH. Pixel animations are difficult :B ))

As Alkaia clenched her fists, Tahi decided that she'd let the learning go on far enough. The Amazon had controlled her temper (although Tahi suspected that that was because Mnem was nearby) and it was a good start.

Waltzing onto the balcony with her usual grace, she met Alkaia's death stare with her best ditzy grin. "Threatening people already Alkaia?" she asked, laughing. "If he's stupid enough to go let Slyphia trick him into harassing Amazons, I doubt even your club would get through to him."

She placed herself between them with a twirl, showing off the elegant dress she'd chosen for the party. Turning to the blonde man, "You shouldn't let Sylphia goad you into things - she's much like an amazon when it comes to men. She was probably hoping Alkaia will beat you up."

Shaking her head - she turned to Alkaia. "You don't mind if I take him out of your hair before he hurts himself, do you?"

((oh - if he clarifies that he doesn't like Zeus and isn't going to give her trouble, he'll be fine - but until he does, she'll be wary of him - and that's awesome Lotus~))

Alkaia glared at Tahi. "None of your business, Nephelae. Quite frankly I don't care either way, and I'm not some stupid toy to be messed with. But go ahead little girl." She stormed off the balcony, purposely shoving slightly into Eos as she walked past and stormed out of the ballroom. Barely anyone seemed to have noticed her leaving, other than the other two mentors and possibly Sylphia.

"Uhm thanks," Eos said. "I know but Sylipha is just..." He has no words to describe the Gorgon.

"Oh yeah, I'm Eos, the new spear instructor." He half-*ssed introduced himself.
