Solitary Practice

[Achlys Adonia Argyris]

Adonia swung her whip with a ferocity seldom seen from her, raising clouds of dust in the empty ring as she lashed out at those she would never be able to find or understand. Those who seemed to have abandoned her without so much as a thought.

"RRRGH!" she growled in frustration, flinging the whip away and walking over to pick up her scythe, which was rather sizable, instead, beginning a complicated series of battle patterns, battling foes that were not truly there. Finally, exhausted from her exertions, she stabbed her scythe into the ground and sank to her knees. Her eyes filled with tears, but she did not allow them to fall.

((Okay... existence crisis... Anyone brave enough to take a stab? >D))

Eos watched as Adonia beat the sh*t out of invisable people. He had come to the Tournament ring to practice, blaw off some steam, seeing as how the training square was occupied at the moment. And he was glad he did, Adonia looked liek she needed someone to talk to... or spar with. He could provide both.

"Adonia?"

Adonia jolted to her feet, her scythe in her hand once more about to lash out before realizing the voice addressing her was that of her teacher Eos. She dropped her scythe, turning a bright red, trying to simultaneously dry her eyes and bow at the same time.

"I-I'm sorry sir" she choked out, her dry throat protesting its recent, rather rough usage. "I-I didn't realize you were here..." she stammered out.

Adonia looked like she was about to birst into tears, that and that the fact that she almost decapitated him alerted Eos that something was very wrong.

"Are you alright?" he asked, grabbing and holding onto her elbow with his left hand. Holding Eosperos in his right hand.

Adonia wrenched her arm as if trying to pull away from him. "I'm just fine" she spat out. "Absolutely, freaking brilliant in fact.Why on earth would I not be All Right!" her words becoming louder and louder as she spoke, glaring at the dirt beneath her feet as if it had done her a deep personal wrong.

((hee hee yes, lots of crying and very nearly missing decapitation does tend to alert one to such things))

Eos' eyes got wide as he heard the usually shy siren use such languague.

"What's got you so upset? Do I need to break some arms?" he asked her, trying to cheer her up a little. He stared into her purple-blue eyes and decided that maybe, yes, now would be an ok time. He reached into her body and slowed her heart-beat, just to calm her down a little. Such a little change she would barely notice, but it might save his head.

Adonia laughed derisively, calming a bit as her heart slowed, her eyes tearing once more. "I wouldn't even know who to sic you on in the first place" she said, her anger surging through her in white hot flames, but subdued ever so slightly by Eos' power.

"Heck, I don't even know my real name!" she said laughing just a bit hysterically. "I made it up! I might not even have a real name" she giggled smiling sarcastically, her eyes still cloudy with tears.

((Ooooh good job slowing her heart. A handy power that. Just might save his neck XDD Yup... she finally snapped XD Is it bad that I'm having fun writing this? >3>))

Eos let her yell as the tears got closer to brimming over the edge of her eyes. He smiled sympathetically at her. Naming yourself, that souned familiar.

"Neither do I," he let her know. "But that doesn't matter, it's just a word. You're not your name, your name is apart of you. And you got to make one yourself, so doesn't that make it that much more apart of you? And, I mean... it's more what people associate with your name, not who named you," he told her all the things he used to tell himself.

Adonia looked up at him tearily, still trying to hold in the tears that were clouding her vision. She opened her mouth a few times as if trying to speak and finally gave up and flung her arms around him crying into his shirt.

Eos rocked back as Adonia flung her arms around him and started to cry. Oh jeez, he thought to himself, i wish I could control endorphins. He dropped his spear and stood there stunned for a second, then wrapped his arms around her, in a frankly little bit awekward embrace for him.

"It's ok, nothing's ever as bad as it seemed," he said not really knowing what to do.

Jack had came to the tournement ring because he heard commotion.

He left, after forcefully slamming his spear into the ground near the entrance.

Adonia looked up in surprise at the sound of a spear in the ground. "Oh no... JACK!" she called, tearing away from Eos and running after the pirate.

((Ooooooooh crud... This could be interesting >3> Adonia's gonna kill me.))

"Don't bother" he half-heartedly growled back, his chest feeling hollow but heavy. He kept his brisk pace, his shoulders tensed up but his poker face was gradually cracking either from sorrow or anger it could go either way.

Eos rocked back again, and almost fell, when Adonia jumped away from him and started running toward her pirate. Well that must have looked... bad He thought, then started laughing to himself at the ridiculousness of the whole thing.

He wondered which would be better, if he stood there, or went with Adonia to explain things... wither or, if it was him he would have been pissed. It was him at one point.... I think he might hate me less if I talked to him. Or not. He stood there debating and watched.

"No! I promise its not what it looks like!" she said running around him to stand in his way. "I would never do that to you!" she said, still crying. "Do you think that after finally finding someone I love after being alone for so long I would just throw all that away?!" she said her hands on his shoulders as she looked at his eyes, her eyes tearing as she saw the pain and anger in them.


((Ooooh no apology necessary, this should be interesting. yeeah I laughed too actually I nearly fell out of my chair in surprise XD ))

"Leave me alone for a lil' while" he grumbled, continuing walking before he spun and looked right through Adonia, straight at the mystery man.

"AND YE CAN PISS RIGHT OFF YER BLONDE FAGGOT!" He roared and then turned sharply on his heel, dropping a gift out of his pocket. It was a work in progress for Adonia but he didn't notice it fall from his pocket to the dusty floor. The bracelet was finely made, silver with a small river of moving liquid blue running through it.

"Jack please! It wasn't his fault!!! I was ju-" she pleaded, stopping abruptly as the bracelet fell from his pocket.
Picking it up, she marveled at the little blue river moving among the silver of the incomplete bracelet."J-jack.... D-did you make this?" she breathed grabbing his wrist before he could walk away.

"Who else dee ye think made it women!" he growled and continued a hard pace, calming himself and clenching his fists together, "Its not like it matter anymore anyways, so ye can keep it". Jack wasn't never good at listening to others, he was never good at looking at a situation from all angles and he was never very good and forgiveness...it was a major flaw in him really.

"Yes it does matter!" she said, now beside herself. She couldn't bear the thought of him leaving. "Don't you understand!?"

She pulled him around to face her, her hands on either side of his face, and the bracelet still in her hand. "You're my reason for living, Jack! You're the reason I'm even bothering to continue on! I love you, you bloody idiot!"
