Practice
Calla pulled the arrow back and felt the familiar tug from the strings and closed one eye, taking aim. She pulled inside herself and released a bit of her air magic as she moved her fingers the slightest, letting the arrow whistle through the air. It hit a few inches off mark. The Charis sighed. and dropped onto the ground, laying there and staring up at the sky as she shifted the winds to a light breeze.

Re: Practice
Morpheus leaned on a fence post, and watched the young Charis.
"Practicing archery, Miss Calla?"

Re: Practice
Calla's eyes widened and she quickly sat up, looking over at the Satyr.
"L-Lord Morpheus!" she exclaimed.
She quickly jumped up and dusted herself up.
"Y-yes...well...sort of...," she said, trying to figure out how to explain it. "This is the best place for me to use my magic, and I'm practicing shooting in different wind currents."

"Please, just Morpheus or Morph."
Morpheus sat beside Calla, and felt the slight shift in the breeze.
"I understand, Miss Calla. After all, I am the Physics teacher. Would you like me to help you? Maybe like a mini tutor session?"

Re: Practice
Calla sat next to the Satyr and smiled.
"That would be wonderful Lord---I mean...Morpheus," she corrected. "I can shoot pretty accurately, even when I don't use my air magic to help me, but you can never be too prepared. Especially if I can't use my air magic during a battle. I just can't get the hang of it though."
She sighed.

"Hm... well, why don't you try shooting again? Maybe I can spot what you're doing wrong. It could be as simple as you're holding the bow wrong, or as complex as unlucky timing."

Re: Practice
Calla stood and picked up her bow and another arrow. She pulled it back, keeping her grip somewhat firm so her accuracy could be better. She brought in another wind. She didn't control the winds the way she wanted, because then how would it count as practice? She took aim and released the arrow. It was closer than before, but still missed the mark. She sighed again and died the winds down.

((I had to google archery. Way to go Morph \o3o/ ))
"Hm... I believe I know what's wrong. "
Morpheus paused to take a sip of tea, which he always seem to have on him.

Calla looked at him and blinked.
'Where did the tea come from?' she wondered.
"What is it?" she asked, turning to face him completely.

He sipped at his tea again, then set the cup down. He then leaned toward the young Charis and poked her nose gently.
"You just need some more practice, young one. Rome wasn't built in a day, you know."
He picked his cup back up and took another drink.
"That's what you're here. To train and grow strong. That's also why we, the Mentors, are here. To help you warriors grow strong. Don't fret if you don't get the hang of it immediately, it will come with time."

Calla sat there, her eyes wide. She then smiled.
"Yes Morpheus. Thank you very much," she said, bowing slightly. She took a seat next to him and looked at the Satyr. "May I ask what the Athenaeum was like when you were a Warrior?"

Morpheus sighed and set the cup down again.
He started to say something, but closed his mouth and pondered for a moment.
"Well... it wasn't that different. I wasn't addicted to tea back then - I believe that started after I won - so I didn't have bundles of tea stashed in my room. Not that I would have been allowed to, back then. The mentors I had were... ehm.. quite ruthless compared the mentors nowadays, to be frank."

Re: Practice
Calla giggled.
"No offense, but I can barely imagine you not addicted to tea," she said, fixing her gloves.
She picked up her bow and ran her fingers along the frame of it gently.

Morpheus picked up his cup.
"Well believe it or not, there once was a time when I wasn't addicted. I believe it was an incident with my sponsor that made me so..."
He trailed off, staring at the soft, smoke-like images that appeared in the tea.

"What was the incident?" she asked curiously, looking up at him again.
What had Dionysus done that gave the Satyr an addiction to tea to the point where people hid his tea from him.

"Uhm... I'd rather not talk about it. Besides, aren't you supposed to be training?"
He appeared a bit flustered. Whatever it was, it had to be bad if he was uncomfortable sharing it.

"Um...yeah, that's fine. I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable," she apologized.
Calla looked up at the sky.
"Morpheus, I have a question," she said quietly, her cheeks turning a bit pink.

Calla set her bow aside and pulled her knees up to her chest, hugging them.
"Is it wrong to fall in love with a God?" she asked, a sort of distant gaze in her mismatching eyes.

Re: Practice
Morpheus appeared startled at her question, then pondered a moment.
After about a minute of silence, he said, "I don't believe I am the right person to ask such a question, but I will give it a try.
As long as it is really love, and not just infatuation or lust, then I see nothing with it. However, you must keep in mind that he is a god. He undoubtedly has many responsibilities, some of which we cannot comprehend with our mortal logic.
....
Just be careful falling in love with gods, young one. They have been known to prey on young, pretty woman such as yourself."

Calla sighed and rested her chin on her knees.
"Some call me an idiot for falling in love with one, but I just can't help it...," she said quietly, burying her face from view in her arms.

"Thank you," she whispered.
She stood and stretched. "Well, time to start practicing again!"

Re: Practice
It had been hours after Morpheus had left, and Calla was still practicing. She was exhausted, but she still didn't leave. She shot arrow after arrow, then went to pick them all up and started the cycle all over again. She was determined to get it right. She let out an aggravated sigh.
"Why can't I get it right?!" she yelled at nothing in particular.

Re: Practice
Adratos trotted inside the magic ring. He didn't know why he was there but he felt like taking a peek at it, since he was a non-magical creature.
As he walked through the fields, he spotted a little Charis training her aim on the targets. Seemed that she didn't had any luck in it. He thought of helping her but on a second thought, he didn't know her that good.
