Re: How to steal food
"Alright, I'm counting on you, Helene. I'm sure you can be a nice girl."
Eien smiled at Helene, then followed closely behind Calla.
"Oh hey, you can use my Lampad Flame if you need some lighting," Eien suggested, holding up his necklace. "The corridors are pretty dark..."

Calla smiled at him.
"You're really thoughtful," she complimented. "But we might want to try to be careful not to be seen until we're in the clear."
She peeked out the door again before quietly sliding through and walked down the hallway carefully and quietly.

Re: How to steal food
Meanwhile in his room Kallistrates was completing his nightly routine. Every night he found a comfy spot to meditate, and use his magic to find out what was going on in the rest of the world - to see if there was something that he needed to check up on for his lady, or if there was just something new to see in the world. It calmed him - listening to the sounds of the mortal world. Mortals, as talented as they were for getting into some of the nastiest situations, also had the most amazing spirit - and could find those small rays of hope like no other species he knew. Maybe it came with having such a short lifespan. Maybe you had to find joy where you could get it that way. Kal didn't know. He wasn't a scholar. No - he was just a wandering soul...
Lying back on his bed he drew his magic in - listening to the sounds of the Athenaeum now. It was never quiet - but at night the normal bustle thinned to a sleepy murmur - disturbed by the occasional patrols of the nighttime guardians. However - tonight, he caught another sound. It sounded like students. He heard a few voices he recognized. Tahi's friend. The little charis... Calliope? No Calla. That was it. And another - the BOY in Tahi's class, Augustin. There were others with them as well, but Kal didn't recognize their voices. Still - they were probably students, and he was obliged as a mentor to send them off for punishment.
But as a former student - he himself had bent the rules many times. It wasn't as though they were hurting anyone... Even if he'd like to get the Pegasus kicked out for daring to be a male in his sister's class - he couldn't do that without punishing the rest of them equally, and he knew Tahi was fond of Calla. He sighed. The things he did for his sister.
Silently he leaped to his feet, with all the grace of a full blooded Nephelae, he padded to the Mentor's private kitchen (where they kept their stash of coffee, tea, and other assorted luxuries the warriors weren't supposed to know about), entering the main kitchens from the side entrance that connected the two. "And what would you all be doing up so late?" He asked conversationally from behind them.

Oh... my... God.... Augustin slapped his forehead. That was the worst answer ever. He tried to save what he could, but it didn't show much hope.
"Lord Kallistates" he bowed "I'm sorry for waking you." he started. "We were a little hungry, so we took a little bread, that's all." he said. And most of all, for three of us, it was true.

Kal surveyed the group of miscreants. The bold little girl who had spoken looked half asleep - and although her answer was... blunt, it seemed to be honest. Behind her Agustin stammered an apology, obviously trying to salvage the situation.
He sighed. Best deal with this. "You didn't wake me - but you did disturb my meditation." He paused. "You all realize that -hungry or not - it is much past your curfew?"

Augustin looked at his wind mentor, and then to Helene. She seemed to swoon in every minute.
"We didn't wanted to disturb you, professor, sorry about it." he said "And we all know, that we shouldn't be here." he sighed, and then looked down. " What kind of punitive work will you give us?"

Re: How to steal food
Kal pretended to consider for a moment - though he had known from the beginning he wasn't going to punish them. But best the Pegasus not think he was soft or he might try to go after Tahi.
"Well.... Usually in this situation I would let your individual mentors deal with you - Mnemosyn for you Augustin, Amaranth for you Aphrodite kids, etc. etc. However I'm really not up for that sort of bureaucracy right now... I've got to leave early in the morning, you see and I'm not really in the mood for staying up all night deciding what to do with you lot." And it wasn't like he hadn't pulled much worse stunts when he was a warrior here. But he wasn't going to say that for sure. He paused, then yawned.
"How about this. You realized what you did was wrong - and that's good enough for me this time. You all head off to bed - NOW - and we'll all forget we saw each other... BUT - should I catch you sneaking out again - there will be much more.... dire... consequences, if you understand me," he said with a smile that didn't reach past his eyes.
"Fair?"

"Alright, then. Thank you, Lord Kallistrates. Let's go, everyone."
Eien was fantasizing about how it would be to be scolded by her. But they'd better leave before the Mentor changed his mind.

Calla squeaked when they were caught and glanced away. Kal had caught her outside a couple times when she just felt the need to get outside and spread her wings in the night air. She wasn't sure exactly what he was going to say to her.
