Hidden Faces

Galene had heard of the ball in honor of the mentor's birthday, Mnemosyne and thinking that everybody had to cover their faces, made her happy. Well, not the happiness she wanted but at least she could be with a smile on her face.
Her snake hair was perfectly tied into two long pigtails, adorned with white pearls, together with her dark purple dress, also with some pearls on her collarbone, long sleeves and bottom of the dress that covered her feet. A red jewl was hung over her forehead and her blindfold was made of black lace, where she could see a little bit of the place, so she wouldn't trumble and bump into other people. Her nails were long and also purple and her lips were a dark red.
She entered the ballroom and looked around. So many people, but she didn't stop the nereid from the other day. Relieved, she went to the buffet and took a glass of wine and looked at the people.

Sylipha gazed at the near endless crowd of teenagers, sweeping her eyes over the Warriors and sending a chill up the spine of each she gazed at with her uncovered eyes. She had brought out a special spell for tonight - essentially a near-invisible veil that shielded her eyes from the rest of the world while allowing the rest of the world to see her eyes for a change. It was a very rare magic that she had come across in of the ancient scrolls in the Library; she did not dare use it often because of the side effects that have been known to occur, but today was, whether she liked it or not, a special occasion.

She was content to stand in the darkest corner of the room, at least until she spied a particular young Warrior.

Ah, I didn't know we had another Gorgon...

A devious look creeped onto her face, and she decided that she might as well introduce herself to her Kin. She stalked through the crowd towards Galene.

"Good evening, my Kin. My, what a lovely costume you're wearing."

Galene heard a voice, female, talking to her and looked through her veil that it was another Gorgon. Wait, what? Another gorgon? A small smile appeared on her lips as the other approached and complimented her.

"Why, thank you, miss. I can say the same about yours. Good night, it is...." she said, taking a sip at her wine. "I didn't know there were other Gorgons around." she said with a wider smile.

Sylipha chuckled. "There aren't that many Gorgons here, I believe at this point in time, there are only three. You, me, and the captain of the guard. I could be wrong though, I don't get out of the library much."

Sylipha peered at the crowd again. "The only one who can comprehend a Gorgon's pain is a fellow Gorgon..."

"Oh, you spend your time at the library? Are you the librarian?" Galene asked curiously.

At Sylipha's words, Galene couldn't agree more. She nodded and recall the episode with the nereid. "I agree... non of these people know what we are feeling... they think we are just vicious creatures. How are you seeing today?"
