Toes in the Water (Open to any~)

WHEN: Early morning? Also, I'm assuming that it's a touch chilly, since we've just had a Halloween event.

Nizhoni had been wandering vaguely around the grounds, early and sleepless. As the sun made its way up the sky, she wasn't all too surprised to find herself out on the edge of the lake. Instead of frowning, like she was leaning towards doing, she smiled, and moved closer to the water. She didn't think anyone else was up, and so hadn't bothered to go to the lounge or the mess hall, as no one else would be around. If anyone was up, they were probably wandering as she was, and maybe she would bump into someone.

There was a light fog rolling in from the water, leaving dew in her long hair, not entirely unpleasant. The pale purple of the morning made things seem a bit unreal, and Nizhoni was surprised by the unseen change of the grass into water. She stumbled back; it was a sudden drop, and she had no idea how deep the lake was. But the water felt nice... She hadn't been in the water for countless weeks. But now wasn't exactly a good time to swim, and she wasn't exactly sure of what was hidden in the unknown depths.

Settling down into the dewy grass, Nizhoni let her feet tangle through the grass, touching the hidden edge of the water. She glanced quickly around before loosening her scarf, the fin-like wings folded against her a pale, content blue-green. Nothing else of her Siren heritage was visible, hidden with her usual care. Nizhoni leaned back, elbows slipping slightly in the morning dew, and propping herself up let her eyes fall closed. She felt somewhat concealed amongst the tall reeds and grass, and was happy to listen to the world waking up around her.

Early to bed and early to rise, that's how the days went by for this little siren. Ash was up before the light of dawn, having dressed and off on her merry little way. She had a smile on her face as always, skipping along down the long hall of the warriors quarters before making her way outside. The sun was just rising so everyone would still be asleep and no males ears would be hurt. With a nod she skipped off heading for the lake.

"We belong to the sea, To the waves you and me,Living in the ocean so blue" She sang nice and loud as she got closer and closer to the lake, not noting the woman hidden within the tall grass.

"We belong to the sea Open wide being free A minute everlasting with you" She sang as she came up to the waters edge before looking around once more before jumping right in with a rather large splash.

Nizhoni was somewhere between dozing and pondering when the faint sound of singing reached her ears. She cringed, that extra layer of enchantment unmistakable; it was another Siren student, though surely a full-blood, unlike herself. She felt her own Siren blood stir at the sound, an urge to sing clawing at her throat, and she sat up, clasping her scarf about her neck to hide the scars.

She couldn't see the other student, relatively concealed as she was. She heard feet leaving the ground, and flinched away from the large splash in the lake, freezing water hitting her and making her laugh. Her wings rippled a surprised orange, fading back to their previous blue, though still tinged with her new suspicion. She tucked them down behind her, out of sight.

"Ah, hello?" She called, straining to catch sight of the newcomer in the water, but seeing only waves and a faint shadow.

Ash squealed as she swam about under the water before perking to hearing a faint voice from above calling to her. Someone was here? Well what do you know...a new face meant a new friend. She beamed moving to head back up. She moved to turn and head back up to the surface, smirking and popping up right in front of Nizhoni "HIIIIII" She said at the top of her lungs.

Nizhoni watched the water for a moment, trying to covertly rewind her scarf in it's usual manner. The sudden appearance of the smirking student caused her to jump, more cold water splashing her waiting form.

Nizhoni sat back, forcing a smile. She sensed an air of care-free innocence about the girl, and no ulterior motives for being out and about.

"Hello!" She called back, a sing-song tone underlying her voice completely by accident. Nizhoni fought the urge to look frantically around, fearful as always that someone else had heard her sing, or almost sing. But no one had come to this girl's much louder call, and so she forced herself to calm, clearing her throat. "Er, I mean, hello! I don't believe we've met. My name is Nizhoni."

Ash smiled the biggest smile her little face could muster. "Hi...What are you doing out here all alone?" She smiled looking at the older student before moving to suddenly pounce the girl with a hug.

"My name is Ashlyne but you can call me Ash" She smiled looking to Nizhoni's chest and giving a squeeze. "You're like sister." She giggled moving moving to stand and yank Niz with her. "Come on Lets go for a swim. The water feels good" She beamed rushing to get into the water first. "Come on" Nizzy" She giggled already giving her a nickname.
