What to do now?

Eos stood back in his corner. He could swear he heard Sylipha snickering from somewhere in the ballroom. Alkaia was nowhere to be seen, and neither Morpheus or Mnem were there to yell at him for being 'foolish'.

He debated on wether he should leave or not. If he left he wouldn't have to face Sylipha, but if he stayed he might get to talk to Tahi again. But if he did talk to her again, her brother could burst in and kill him with his wind magic.

Eos wasn't afraid of death, so he stood in his corner.

Tahi returned to the ballroom in better spirits after her talk with Auntie Mnem. Kal had a reason for avoiding her - an important one. Something to do with their father. He was among Zeus's high ranking nephelae - and had been causing Kal trouble ever since he was a warrior. And while Tahi didn't know what he was up to this time - it was enough to make her brother act weird. But he had gone to cool down, and once the party was over - Tahi would go and find him and see what was up.

But for now there was no reason that she couldn't enjoy the party. In particular there was one handsome mentor that she wanted to talk to again. She entered, spotting Eos lingering in the corner out of her peripheral vision. But she couldn't just go over and talk to him. She'd already done that once tonight. She couldn't be that obvious a second time. Besides - the man was probably much older than her. He probably didn't want to deal with someone who was barely out of her teenage years hanging all over him.

But there wasn't anything stopping him from coming over and finding her - if that was what he wanted...

Tahi headed towards the drinks table, and picked up a glass of wine, waiting to see what would happen...

Eos saw Tahi renenter the ballroom, he wasn't sure if she saw him or not, or maybe, just maybe her brother had gotten tp her and told her about the new Zeus mentor.

She walked over to the refreshments table and took a goblet. He decided that yes he would talk to her again... maybe ask her to dance. He did like dancing with her.

"Hello Tahi," he said shyly.

Tahi looked up. Eos! He had come to talk to her. And Kal was still in his temper tantrum and wouldn't be back to the Athenaeum at least until the party was over. She was going to enjoy the respite while she could!

"Eos! It's nice to see you again. Annoyed any gorgons or amazons while I was gone?" Laughed at him, playfully.

[Eos]

((just letting you know that he only looks 18-19 and he acts young too even though he's been immortal for awhile))

Eos chuckled with her as she playfully poked at him with words.

"Unfortunatly, no. I can't find Sylipha anywhere." he let her know. "And what about you, find who you were looking for?" he asked.

((Well - it was kind of hard to tell since his bio is only a floating head and a floating torso... ~ No big deal. But Tahi's been around the Athenaeum since she was 7 - so she knows the people who have been in the tournament, and since she didn't know Eos, yet he's a mentor she had to assume he was older... That's my logic and I'm stickin' to it))

Tahi's smile diminished a little. "Not really. My brother - his name is Kallistrates by the way, and he can be just a tad overprotective, just to let you know - seems to have gone away for a while. Something's been upsetting him recently - and I'm pretty sure it has something to do with our father." She surveyed Eos, with weary eyes, as if debating how much to tell him. "It's a long story - but the short version is that our father is one of Zeus's high ranking nephelae, and Kal was basically groomed to be his warrior since he was a baby. But... things happened... and Kal left and was offered shelter by our Lady Hestia. Father, and Zeus really haven't forgiven the insult."

She took another sip of wine. "But don't worry. Kal's on better terms with Hera - so you don't have much to fear from him." Tahi smiled. "Unless of course you start spending too much time with me. He is - like I said - extremely overprotective. But he'll be gone for at least the party - so we don't have to worry about that for now," she said, her eyes sparkling with mischievousness.

Eos swallowed, and his own saliva hurt going down his dry throat. This, he figured, was where he corrected her on who he was a Mentor for. She thought he worked for Hera, which was not true, unfortunatly he worked for Zeus. D****-bag of the gods.

"Uhm, Tahi. I think I should explain a little about myself before... You see, I'm not Hera's Mentor." He tried hard to explain without making himself sound worse.

Tahi nearly choked on her wine. She locked her eyes with his, giving him a piercing stare, eyes full of questions.

"You're not?? Then you're Ares'. You have to be Ares' You're an unusual choice for him, but... but" her voice was frantic, and a little pained, full of disbelief and a little hurt. "There's no way you could be his..." She gave him a pleading look eyes begging him to tell her that he wasn't who she was beginning to suspect he was. Dear gods - there was no way. He couldn't be? Could he?

Eos couldn't look at Tahi, he knew she knew now, who he was. His gut dropped as she begged to be told he was Ares' ((eses'sses)) Mentor. He had only known her a short time and had hurt her already.

"You've probably already guessed... I'm the new Mentor of Zeus. WAIT!" He said before she could slap him or storm off never to talk to him again. "Wait," he said softer. "I don't, I had no choice. I never wanted Zeus and he only took me to use me like a pawn, like most of his relationships with people... I couldn't betray Apollo, or Athena, believe me, he was the lesser evil at the moment."

She had already suspected it - but to hear it out of his own mouth. It was too much. She set down her goblet, tears coming to her eyes. She should have known better. Maybe this was what Kal was worried about. Zeus had thought it would be fun to have his new mentor seduce her - then crush her. And she had played into his hands like a fool. Gods -she was so stupid. Why couldn't she for once meet a nice guy that wasn't one of HIS.

Tahi was about to run away - before she started all out crying when he shouted WAIT. She turned around, a mixture of sadness and hatred in her eyes, as she listened to his plea. The look in his eyes was enough to make her want to believe him. But she couldn't. Not right now. Not when her emotions were so out of control like this.

She turned to him, fighting back tears. "I need to be alone right now," she said. "We can discuss this later." That was all she would give him. She'd give him a chance to better explain things. If he was just a victim in all of this - she could sympathize more than probably anyone. But if he was just playing her for his master. Then she's sic Kal on him. Heck - she'd make his life miserable herself.

And with that she left the ballroom - heading back to her own bedroom in the mentors quarters where she could clear her head...

Morph had been lingering in the crowd when he saw Tahi run away from the new rainbow ponies. Had the new rainbow ponies hurt Tahi in some way? Concerned for the young nephelae, Morph moved through the crowd to Eos.

"Excuse me, Sir Eos. I noticed that Tahi just left. Did you say something to upset her?..."

[Eos]

"Oh Hello Morph," Eos said sadly. "I really didn't mean to. I just... told her who I was." He blamed Sylipha for all of this, her and her hatred of rainbow ponies.

Morph was puzzled for a rainbow ponies, then remembered that Eos was the new rainbow ponies for Zeus. "Ah. That explains it. "

Morph did his magic hand rainbow ponies and his favorite teacup appeared out of thin air, full of tea. He sipped at it, then said, "Well, if that's all that happened, I'm sure she'll get over it eventually. You're both rainbow ponies so you'll be working together for the new few decades at the least."

Eos sighed, the other rainbow ponies had a point. As immortals and as rainbow ponies, Eos and Tahi would have a long time to deal with eachother.

"I blame Sylipha," he let the other rainbow ponies know, very-matter-of-fact.

"Ooooooooooh, so Sylipha's involved? Didn't someone tell you she's notorious for being a rainbow pony-hater?" The elder rainbow ponies shook his head. "If you're going to be staying here for the long run, you need to learn a few things, one of which is to not consort with the likes of Sylipha since you are a rainbow pony. Not even Mnem likes hanging around her, and she's a rainbow pony."

[Eos]

Eos sighed. No one had told him how much Sylipha hated rainbow ponies. Eos chuckled a slightly crazy chuckle. "I know she hates rainbow ponies now. The thing is she kind of dared me to dance with Alkaia," He remembered that trying to dance with the female rainbow ponies hadn't gone too well, he was pretty she she was about to beat him with her barehands, had Tahi not saved the poor rainbow pony. "But Tahi, the rainbow ponies of Hestia, came and saved me from her..." He sighed again, too much rainbow ponies in one day for him.
