Not Again!

Ah, the infirmary, how he knew it well enough. And here he was again, probably another addition of scars on the forearm of his right arm. He'd neglected wearing his leather protector and had been sparring with another warrior. He'd used his arm to block the blows like he usually did and got a rather deep cut. Now he hadn't thought it was much, he'd had worse. You couldn't see the bone yet after all. But one of the mentors had been a bit unsettled about all of the blood and sent him to the infirmary anyway.

Ruairi set down one one of the beds, having sent Padraig to sit outside the door. He didn't know where Iva was but chance was that if she'd walk by and see the dog in front of the door, she'd get the gist of the situation.

"Man, I do hope I won't need sowing in my flesh again," he murmured. He did think think that going into his skin with a needle and thread was kiiiind of uncanny.

Iva was once again running low on supplies, so she had asked the High Priestess if she could run out for a few hours to gather some. So several hours later she was arriving back to the Haven with several different pouches of herbs and other medical supplies. As she turned the corner there was Padraig sitting patiently outside her door.

Iva sighed, once again Ruairi had gotten hurt. She quickly reached down to pet the Irish Wolfhound before pushing the door open. "Hello, Ruairi." Iva said over her shoulder as she set the pouches all on the counter. The Amazon quickly took her traveling cloak off and tossed it onto a chair. "Now what have you done to yourself today?" She asked studying him over and noticing the huge gash in his right arm.

"Oh hey Doc," Ruairi said brightly, holding his arm with the opposite hand. It wasn't bleeding anymore, though there was still some unstolled blood in the wound.

"Oh, nothing much. Was sparring with this guy when he takes a swing at me with his sword, forgot to wear the leather again. I told 'em it was nothing, just a little cut, but they insisted you patch me up," He grinned sheepishly, a little like a small boy that's been caught doing something he shouldn't have.

"But you look particularly nice today Doc," he complimented, accompanying it with a wink and a dazzling smile, or so he'd like to think of it.

Padraig had come in after Iva and settled to sniffing at Iva, wagging his quite large tail at the same time.

Iva blinked for a moment...Ruairi just complimented her. How odd...she thought to herself the boy had never done that before. "Thank you, Ruairi..." She finally said.

Iva sighed and shook her head. "Haven't we been over this? You must, emphasis on the must, wear the leather whenever you are fighting." She scolded Ruairi quite like how a mother would her child. Carefully she took his arm and looked at, she examined it. It was deep, but not too deep or deep enough to see bone or muscle.

"Well you're lucky, you don't need it sewed up again." Iva told him and carefully put his arm down onto his lap. She turned around to grab the die da jiu liniment formula she had gotten from China, then she grabbed a clean cloth and then finally some bandages. "I'm simply going to bandage you up. Does that sound okay with you?" She asked the boy making sure that not sowing him up was good or not.

((I googled so many things about cuts and deep cuts on arms XD I couldn't find how to sow an arm up...sounds lame I know....so I hope the cut wasn't too deep...))

[Ruairí]

"I know!" Ruairi grumbled a little. "I just forgot, and it didn't seem worth it to have to run all the way back to my room to fetch it, it's just a scratch after all, didn't even bleed that bad." Then again, Ruairi's view of bad bleeding was probably a lot wetter than that of most people.

"Ah, thank the bloody gods up there for that," Ruairi said with a laugh. "It's so weird to see you practice your needlework in my skin!" It was definitely unsettling, and he hated that it had to stay so long as well, it always itched terribly.

"You're very welcome Doc, you do look particularly nice," he'd never really noticed it but Iva was indeed quite pretty. And Ruairi did so love pretty women.

((It's just stitches D: But Ruairi wouldn't know they were called stitches so he sees it as sowing his skin xD ))

Iva shook her head at him. "Well next time take the time to go back to your room to get it." She scolded him once more and set the materials onto the table next to him.

Iva opened up the jar die da jiu liniment and swiped some up with the cloth. Ever so carefully the Amazon dabbed it onto the cut. "Die da jiu liniment, is a Chinese medicine that will stop bleeding and risk of infection." Iva explained hoping he would understand what she just said.

"Any particular reason for the flattery, Ruairi?" Iva inquired curiously.

((Oh....gosh I feel stupid....with all this crazy midterm stuff I've been over thinking a lot of simple stuff XD))

[Ruairí]

"Yes, Doc, sorry, doc," Ruairi said grumbling, he was very much the scolded child. "I just, I could have beat the damned kid if they hadn't send me away!"

"Please don't make me repeat that," Ruairi said in jest at the Chinese medicine, though not entirely understand what Chinese was, it did sound very medicine-like. He winced when she applied it, it did sting a little, but he was a man after all, and he'd fared worse wounds than a little cut. Come on, he survived the sowing!

"No, not really, I just feel that you should tell a pretty lady when she is. Did you do something different to yourself?" He just couldn't pick it out, there was something different, but what?!

((It's quite alright, I should make these things clearer xD))

"Well, I don't care if you could've beaten the other warrior if the mentor hadn't sent you to me. If you had been wearing the leather in the first place then you could've beaten him with out an injury." Iva told him in a matter of fact tone.

Iva smiled and shook her head at Ruairi. "No worries, I won't make you remember the name of the medicine." She finished dabbing the cut and set the cloth down onto the table. Iva then picked up the gauze and the bandages, very gently she placed several gauzes onto the wound then wrapped his arm up in bandages. "Wah-la, all finished." Iva said grinning and ruffled his hair. "Now try to be more careful. Oh and come back every day so I can change the bandage." Iva instructed Ruairi and was practically staring the boy down so he would know it was important to get the bandage changed daily.

Iva blinked for moment. "Well I did grow my hair out...it was much spikier before." She grabbed a long strand of her hair and twirled it.

[Ruairí]

"Fiiine," Ruairi grumbled. "At least I'll probably get a scar from it, and everyone knows the ladies love men with scars, right?" He shot a winning smile ad Iva and winked. Scars rocked.

"Phew," he made a show of looking relieved. He lifted up his hand, flexing his fingers slowly. The wound throbbed, but it was a tiny hurt compared to others he'd suffered. "Thanks Iva! I'll... try to remember my leather next time, though if this gets me to hang out with you every day than I might just forget next time..."

Iva blinked; she was a little dumbfounded with Ruairi's flirting. Right it was flirting, she asked herself. She was trying not to show her reactions to his words on her face, but was most likely failing.

She wouldn't mind his company his company with her at all but it was her job to make sure the students were healthy and strong. "Well, forget it every once in a while." Iva winked and then gathered up the supplies. She headed back over to one of the counters and dropped the supplies onto it; she would organize it later.

"So, other then hurting yourself Ruairi, how are your classes going?" Iva asked curiously. One like herself didn't talk to many...some used to find her scary before she changed her hairstyle.

"Oh classes are going great," Ruairi said, grinning. "The fighting especially, one thing that's more fun that getting myself hurt it's hurting others! Magic's going alright, I can do a bit of waterstuff, but not much, and I've recently made me a wicked dagger in the forge..." He purposely omitted the strategy class, he was not a brainer and most knew that. And that Satyr just crammed out all these insanely complicated things and he wrote things on the board and Ruairi couldn't even read and... well... most of the time he just didn't go.

"How are you doing? Not too many kids pestering ya? Not to many guys begging for your attention?" Ruairi asked half-flirting and half genuinely curious.

"Well I'm glad to hear your other classes are going well. And just keep on practicing with it, I don't know much about magic myself but I would assume it to be treated like regular fighting. You know what they say practice makes perfect." Iva encouraged with a smile.

"Me? I'm doing fine, a few students here and there will appear at my door in need of being patched up." Iva explained her normal day.

She snorted rather unladylike. "Heh, the guys begging for my attention. That's a rather silly thought, but no there's currently not a line of suitors begging for my attention. Any particular reason you care to know, Ruairi?" Iva wondered why the warrior cared about it.
