Re: Dancing for Myself
She chuckled. "So how would you go about insulting someone while in the presence of a lady?" she asked, slightly curious.
Andrasteia could easily imagine Eri dressing up an a boy's clothes to go out and have fun. She herself had always just been a companion for Hecate, which had certainly been good enough for her.

Eri considered that for a moment. "Well that would depend on who was being insulted,"she giggled. "But generally the way it works is to say something moderately rude in the most polite, civil, and friendly way possible, or to say something that could be taken to mean something polite or rude and watch them try to figure out which it is."

Re: Dancing for Myself
"Well that sounds interesting, if not the best system," she giggled. "But there are certainly some more fun and interesting ways to insult people...which, unfortunately, include some of those nasty things boys can say." Andras sighed. "You just can't win."

Re: Dancing for Myself
"Indeed... They do say some rather nasty things." she said grinning wickedly. "But still, it really was much more fun to be a boy than a girl back home... I love the dresses, boy talk, and such.... but boys get to do things that are so much more.... well.. more." she said with a shrug.

Re: Dancing for Myself
"Well, I don't really have the same perspective..." she said thoughtfully, thinking of some of her friends, "But I like being a girl who can just...talk to boys? I don't know, they can be fun to hang around, when they're not being jerks."

Re: Dancing for Myself
"Oh I wouldn't ever really want to be a boy" she said hastily. "They smell" she said with a mischievous wink. "I just love all the things they are allowed to do..." she said eagerly.
"They don't have to ride side-saddle, they are allowed to learn combat, defense, business, engineering... all sorts of interesting, useful things... and girls back home just.. think of nothing but cooking, cleaning, marrying, and babies..." she said wrinkling her nose.

"Travel..." she added to the list, wishing that she'd been able to get out and see the world more, like her friend that she'd met over the summer. This was new though, after hearing all his wild tales...

Re: Dancing for Myself
"Oh yes... What I wouldn't give to be allowed to travel across Asia!" she said looking a bit starry-eyed.

Re: Dancing for Myself
"Or all the way to South America, or Australia!" She giggled. "I'd love to go somewhere like that." Andrasteia tilted her head to the side. "Maybe when I'm done here I'll go traveling..."

Re: Dancing for Myself
Eri's eyes lit up. "Oooh that would be wonderful" she said twirling around in her excitement. "I would just LOVE traveling all over the world. There's so many things to see an do out there!"

Re: Dancing for Myself
"I know you can become a mentor after graduating, but...I wonder if they'd let you take a year off to go travel?" Andrasteia smiled, staring dreamily into space and thinking of all the places that had been described to her. "It really would be amazing, wouldn't it..."

Re: Dancing for Myself
((That's ok XD I don't get emails for Eri either ;3; I have to guess XD))
Eri smiled at the though. "It would be lovely" she said with a sigh. "I'd want to go everywhere! I want to see everything there is to see!"

Re: Dancing for Myself
This made Andrasteia laugh. "That would be quite an accomplishment, wouldn't it? It would take several lifetimes to see all there is to see, but I guess you could certainly see a lot of it in one, don't you agree?"

Re: Dancing for Myself
Eri grinned. "As much as I can. And if I can catch a good man along the way, so much the better!" she laughed.

Re: Dancing for Myself
Andras giggled. "And what qualities are you looking for in a good man? Obviously not one who swears, or at least one who doesn't swear very often."

Re: Dancing for Myself
Eri shrugged. "I've heard enough cussing during my life to where I'm not sure that really bugs me anymore... My real requirements are simple..."
She began to tick them off on ehr fingers "First of all, he must treat me with respect... second, he must be taller than me, third, he must be a real man... you know.. big, tough, manly... none of this effeminate nonsense" she said, making a face at the thought of a feminine man.

Re: Dancing for Myself
"Well, those requirements are simple enough. With those you should find someone at least," she said with a small smile. "I have to admit that a sense of humor and an appreciation for gardening would be added to a list for mine, if I was really going to write down all the requirements."

Re: Dancing for Myself
Eri nodded vigorously. "Oooh yes... I would imagine a sense of humor would be essential for a man to be able to spend a day with me without threatening to remove my head" she grimaced remembering Bjorn's threats. "I'm not always the easiest person... who am I kidding? I'm never all that easy to get along with." she giggled.

Re: Dancing for Myself
"Oh, I don't know about that," she said almost diplomatically. "I seem to be getting along with you fine, I mean, you're teaching me to dance and everything. But if there was some guy who was a stuffed shirt or something, I can see him having problems getting along." Andras couldn't hold back a giggle of her own, the idea of Eri with some kind of stuck up man was laughable. She'd have him tied up in knots within minutes...

Re: Dancing for Myself
"Oh you should have seen me and father." she said with a slightly pained grin. "You just described my relationship with everyone back home. Family and stranger alike... although I did rather like the guys in father's train yards.... but then, they all thought I was a boy." she laughed

Re: Dancing for Myself
"At least you're getting along better here, eh?" she said, hoping that she hadn't offended Eri accidentally or something. "I wonder why gender would have anything to do with how much people liked you. I guess it goes back to all those gender roles, yes?"
Guest- Guest
Re: Dancing for Myself
"Exactly" Eri said cheerily. "If they had known I was a girl, they wouldn't have even let me get anywhere near the place... and then they would have been horrified, told my Father, and I would probably have been confined to the house permanently by my parents." she said rolling her eyes with a crooked grin.
She neglected to mention that a similar thing had occurred not too long before leaving for the Athenaeum, but who would want to hear about such a depressing topic.
((don't worry, she's not offended. She's a bit sensitive about the subject of her family if she's feeling particularly blue, but generally she's a pretty open girl about herself and Oni))

Re: Dancing for Myself
"It's a good thing they never found you out, huh?" she asked, returning the grin and feeling better. It seemed like it would take a lot to offend Eri.
[ Fail post is fail, I'm sorry. ><; And that's good, I think Andras may be a little over-sensitive to other people's feelings but whatevs. ]

Re: Dancing for Myself
"Yup... good thing" she lied through her grinning teeth. No need to dampen the mood of their happy dance lesson with her tales of woe. "It wasn't an easy thing though" she said crossing her arms and staring at the floor a moment, lost in thought. "I had to be veeeery careful about how I obtained boy's clothes, and even finding a place to change into the clothes so I could go out was tricky." she said with a grin.
((that's ok XD Adonia tends to be that way. Eri, generally doesn't care who she offends XD))

Re: Dancing for Myself
Andras nodded, lost in thought. "I guess sneaking around isn't as easy as people make it sound. I mean, when you think about it, there are so many factors as to what will make it a successful plan and what won't..."
[ xD Offending people is always fun. In rp, at least. It adds an interesting flavor *eyebrow wiggle* ]
