Remembering Empty Remembering

Aazzi sat under the shade of a tree, with a book in her lap. It was a non-fiction and for all she acted she was actually quite the history nerd. She used to sneak into the English and Dutch settlers towns and steal books from the school to read. She now was quite proud of her history knowledge and once she even 'borrowed' one of them..what did they call them...laptops? To research even further, she learnt a lot from a white mans culture, she memorised everything from, actors and films to soldiers and war, significant people and revolutions to little trivial things like bands and famous books. She might as well have been a native for all she knew, perhaps she knew a little more than some of them. For all her memory it was well adapted to memorising things she was interested in and placing the book on the grass she started to walk around, marvelling at the flowers and thinking happily about the topic she had just learned, but she liked to recap everything she had learned and there was this one song that she rather enjoyed partly from the fact she liked the singer and part from the fact that she knew in-depth about everything he said, every person, every place, every fact she had learnt and memorised...I mean she had 16 years of doing hardly anything she had a lot of brain space to fill up. The lioness started to walk with more rhythm and moved her arms and hands in a very matter of factly way.

Then she would repeat, working over the words in her head as she enjoyed her nerdiness in the hot afternoon sun. It made her feel a little bit...awesome...that she probably knew the most history out of anyone at the Athenaeum.

Remembering Empty Re: Remembering

Jane was strolling through the grounds, her head full of thoughts and those thoughts running in circles when she thought she heard a voice. Someone was singing. And the song sounded familiar...

"Oh no," she groaned, closing her eyes and pinching the bridge of her nose. "Not Billy Joel..."

Then she went in search of the voice, just to see who knew such an irritating, yet at the same time good, song.

[ I love that song, and the music video. x3 But apparently Jane doesn't. ]
