Poor unfortunate souls
His physical appearance was grotesque. Galene could tell by the traces of his face that she roamed with her hands. Human face and torso, snake bottom, devil wings, deformed hands, a smile across his face. A permanent smile as far as she could feel. She knew he hasn't been like this forever. Something had happened and now he was like this. What happened, Galene was far from knowing yet, because as soon as she met him, she knew he was dangerous. Inofensive enough to let be touched, dangerous enough to manipulate people to kill themselves.
Yarzulk. It was the only word the creature said to Galene ever since they met, in that dark place, where the shadows were tricky, where one step further could mean death. Dungeons. Mean, twisted creatures, hurtful souls, painful deaths. Why Galene was there? Well, she knew it wasn't a walk in the park but her training was beginning to be dull without somebody to fight against. She could die here but at least she would feel alive.
She stepped away from the creature named Yarzulk and remained silent, attentive to the surrounding sounds of the creature. She then clapped her hands together, making two balls of fire appear and ready for battle. Yarzulk slid quickly towards Galene starting the battle.

Re: Poor unfortunate souls
Ruairi poked his head around a corner and shivered. The dungeons were a cold, cold place, being below ground, and he himself wasn't a big fan of clothing. He drew his wolfskin cape cloak around himself as he watched Galene walk up towards some badassly ugly creature. He had seen her walk towards the dungeon and, taken by curiosity, he'd stalked followed her down into its shadows. He had to be fair to himself, he hated the dungeons. The place gave him the creeps. It was partly the fact that it was underground and the air was stale and muffy, and not to mention that the ceiling was far too close for comfort. The part was, of course, the monsters. Sure, there was nothing that Ruairi thought he couldn't handle, but still there was such a thing as tempting fate a little too much.
But alas, to keep straight from the sidetracking that happened quite often in Ruairi's brain, he was watching Galene and the monster. It was really ugly, he supposed the kind of ugly that got you banned in cold and muffy dungeons. It was part-snake (and not the kind of pretty part-snake like those girls, Lucinda and Chicosomethingtoolongforhimtoremember that walked around the Athenaeum, as much as a half-snaked lady could be pretty. But he'd never really pursue those as, you know, their bottom halves were very non-human. He shook his head, sidetrackment had happened again) with this gigantic creepy wings sprouting from its back. The kind of wings that looked like skin over bones with those webbed, yet kind of fuzzy flaps inbetween. And then there were the hands that looked definitely non-human. His face, which was human, wasn't pretty-human either, looked like the poor dude had drawn the short end of all straws. Most of all it had this wicked grin and Ruairi could swear he could see pointy teeth, but he could just be imagining those. In any case pointy teeth would be perfect with the rest of the dude.
He squinted his eyes in the darkness, being able to see the creature alright at least. He wasn't bad with night-vision, most, if not all, of the raids his clan had done were at night when the enemy, or victims, were asleep. Seeing in the darkness was definitely needed then or you'd probably trip and die. And, seeing as Ruairi was alive (and still handsome, if he may say so himself) he had never tripped and died. ANDWAITHOLYSHITWASSHETOUCHINGTHETHING?!
Ruairi's mouth just about fell to the floor. He just about sighed in relief as she summed some fire soon after. Now that he could deal with. He grabbed his sword and took three (huzzay long legs) steps towards Galene, ending up just a little behind her, clear from the monster that slithered towards her. "Well hai there good-lookin', looks like this damsel may need some help from distress," he added a wink, forgetting she probably wouldn't be able to see it. He didn't quite engage yet, waiting for her reaction to his presence since, considering her love for him, might very well end up with a fireball to his face.

Re: Poor unfortunate souls
Galene that heard the three steps coming in her direction thought it was an ambush and swag her arm behind her, covered in fire in order to hit whatever it was behind her. Then she heard that voice. Dammit, she mumbled to herself in thoughts and quickly turned around, sensing Yarzulk coming towards her faster.
She too rushed forward and hit the creature on his stomach with a ball of fire, rolling to the floor next to her "Ruairí, do something useful!" she screamed out "I'm not a lady in distress so get your ass to fighting along!" she completed as Yarzulk saw Ruairí and his grimace became bigger showing off his teeth. The creature decided to hit the ginger now, his claw ready to rip Ruairí's chest.

Ruairi had come far too close to fire-in-face for comfort but he was lucky that Galene realize who he was inches before he might lose his gorgeous locks to burnment. And quite seriously, he would probably NEVER forgive ANYONE for torching his gingerness.
But he barely had enough time to think any of those thoughts for the thing was heading for him next. Well more accurately for the squishy parts inside its torso as the claws seemed ready to rip them out of him. Luckily for Ruairi he ducked just in time, he actually felt the displacement of air right above his head as the creature missed him my millimeters. Well, missed his hair by milimeters. After all, that's what really matters.
He unsheethed his sword, cursing on Padraig for being too chicken to enter the dungeon. The dog liked underground places even less than Ruairi did. With a heroic "RAAAAAAH" he leaped at the giant snake/man/thing, sword raised above his head before he brought it down, hoping to stab the beast's torso. Too bad it wasn't that easy, the thing twisted away and Ruairi ended up stabbing the wing instead. The thing roared in pain but didn't seem much affected by the hole in his wing. Great. Instead it just got madder.
A claw full of fire came towards Ruairi and the ginger could just about jump to the side before his hair became toast. Why did they ALWAYS aim at this HAIR?! Instead the fire seared the underside of his right arm and Ruairi winced. He hated fire. Why did it always have to be fire?!
Oh and remember the teeth? Definitely pointy.
((I am alive D: OR HE IS D: I understand if you don't want to continue this roleplay but if you do, he's here 8D ))

Re: Poor unfortunate souls
Galene could only hear the sounds of the battle going on, looking around as her snakes, her eyes, guided her. It seemed that Yarzulk was getting some advantage and the smell of burnt hair said to Galene that Ruairí was soon in trouble if she doesn't help him. That is, if he wasn't in trouble already for showing up.
The loud growl of the Yarzulk said that he was mad. Oh boy, that wasn't good. A creature like that angry was not worse then tamed but still caused several problems.
A ball of fire appeared in her hands and she shouted to the creature. "Hey you! Come and get me!" she growled, her snakes hissing as she went forward again, trying to avoid the creatures claws and hitting him with a low to high fist but not before getting three ugly cuts on her torso.
Hissing, she backed off, pressing her arms against her fresh wound. She did not remove her blindfold, knowing it was a fatal attack for the beast. But this was a true battle and no tricks were allowed in her mind. Besides, she was afraid that Ruairí would see her eyes and turn into stone. Too dangerous.
Yarzulk smirked widely, licking its lips before rushing forward to Galene to crave her claws on her again but she was quick enough to jump and roll over to the left.
