Severa sighed. "It's not so much that I fight with anger, well perhaps anger at Ares, or at the situation. I fight because I need to, a fight for survival. I get my strength more from the knowledge that I need to stay in Haven, for my own sake and those of others. Given, hostility is not something of a stranger to me," she laughed awkwardly again.

"So you fight for what?" Severa asked. "For the chance that he would take notice of you?" She guessed, feeling the breeze around her and knowing that it was not natural.

Calla created a gentle breeze to surround them, it's warmth enveloping them. She sighed and rolled onto her stomach, opening her eyes and staring out over the cliff.
"It's not that I want him to notice me...but...I just don't want to lose and appear weak to him...or Lady Aphrodite for that matter," she answered softly, a slight distant look in her eyes.
She looked up at Septima, a slightly curious look on her face.
"Have you ever been in love?" she asked, not exactly expecting an answer, but she wanted to ask anyway.

"No," Septima answered quite honestly. "I've been in marriage, or more so will be, if that makes any sense. But that's no love, and I'll never be in love either, not in my mortal life." She sighed, it all sounded incredibly complicated. She half-closed her eyes, enjoying the warm breeze,dangling her legs over the cliff edge.

"You know, on closer examination, you're not too bad."

Calla rolled her eyes.
"You just figured that out?" she asked.
She was slightly surprised with herself, but didn't show any signs of it. She had never been this sarcastic with anyone before. Then again, she WAS talking to Septima.
"And why won't you ever be in love?" she continued, closing her eyes again.

"Hey, you're starting to learn some sarcasm! I have a feeling I'm rubbing off on you," Septima grinned.
She sighed. "I've seen my future, Ares was happy enough to show it to me. It's really... strange... I feel everything from that life, it's as if I've lived two lives, this one, and the other one back home. Though I suppose that's his doing. In any case, there are no feelings of love in me. Not the way a woman might love a man. I've loved my daughter, though, and that love was enough."

Calla frowned.

"But...if you've seen your future, doesn't every person have the right to create the path they walk on?" she questioned, running a hand through her blonde hair. "If I knew something happened in my future that I could never forgive myself for, I think I'd do everything in my power to change it."

She went back to looking out over the cliff, thinking of Hermes again as a pink blush tinted her cheeks. Would she ever regret not telling him? Maybe, but it didn't matter. She knew he probably wouldn't return her affections, and she didn't want to be used. Her future was a cloudy path, and it both frightened and empowered her.

"You see, that's why you and me are different. If I lose the tournament, I'll get sent back to my time with no memories of this ever happening. I wouldn't know that I know my future, therefore I'd walk it like a sheep!" Severa responded sadly.

"You're probably doing the right thing you know," Severa told Calla, quite certain she knew what the girl was thinking about. "No good can come of it, look at Mnemosyne."

Calla flinched, hating that she was an open book to the girl. She buried her face in her arms and kept herself to stay calm. She took a couple deep breaths and soon calmed, but kept her face hidden. It hurt that she didn't have barely any hope to maybe it would be different with her. It stung deeper than any physical wound.

"Oh don't do that you ignorant girl," Septima said, though her tone was not harsh. "Something I picked up in Rome: Women tend to fall for a man hard, but they fall for another harder. You'll find another one soon enough, there's men in the Athenaeum you know." Septima shifted to lay on her stomach over the cliff, letting one hand brush the dirt while she rested her head on the other.

"Yeah, but who is there that isn't a stuck-up jerk?" she mumbled.
Calla sighed and rolled onto her back, staring up at the blue sky. She lifted a hand up and let the air swirl around it. It just didn't feel natural to her if she wasn't using her magic. Her wind magic was what made her herself, and to not let her use it...it just didn't seem right.

Severa sighed. "There's Augustin, he's too nice for his own good... And... Wait... Lemme think! Okay, that might be it," She smiled. "But quite seriously I'm sure there are plenty of boys who aren't assholes. There's a fair amount who are merda, but there have to be a few that are not"

"Yes, but none of them...they're just not...," she trailed off, sighing in aggrivation.
None of them were HIM. She couldn't help it. She loved Hermes and just couldn't even bring herself to think about another man. It was a sick, twisted love that was slowly killing her inside.

"They're not Hermes," Severa provided. "Look I'm not sure that I'm the one who should be giving you love advice, considering my history and future, all I know is that what you feel isn't healthy." The girl really did need help, her infatuation wasn't the healthy kind. Severa wondered if she should get Mnemosyne involved, she'd know what to do. Or Amaranth, the girl's mentor. No, not Amaranth, the mentor wasn't really that... tactful with most things, including love. She'd probably just support it...

Calla's anger flared slightly, and the disturbance in the air showed that.
"Yes, I know that," she snapped.
She did somewhat appreciate what Severa was telling her, but still...it was a pride thing. People telling her who she is and who she should be, what she can and can't do whether in life or in general, and just overall criticizing her life choices.
"You know, love isn't something that you can just turn on and off with a switch. You may know what's going to happen in your future, so you just seem to give up. I refuse to let others tell me how to run my life, even if it will destroy me in the end," she stated.
The Charis then stood and walked off back to her dorm room.
