Getting into trouble...... again Empty Getting into trouble...... again

Eri was in a foul mood. She'd had a rather trying day which included failing miserably once more in her attempts to create a plant, ripping a pair of pants in the knees, Losing one of her favorite Brooches, and not to mention missing lunch. Thus, it was with a vicious blood-lust that Eri had entered the dungeon in search of creatures to pick a fight with.

By now, she had killed many creatures of varying sizes and danger levels, and she sat in the middle of a large room, littered with the corpses of monsters long since dead and the bones of their unfortunate victims. She wrinkled her nose at the dark, rusted chains hanging from the ceiling as they clanked together ominously, moodily lighting the single oil lamp hanging from the ceiling with a flick of her wrist. and wiping a splatter of greenish blood from her cheek.

She jumped suddenly as a shadow leaped across the wall, her hand clenching around her glaive as she stood, looking around her for the source of the shadow. A moment later, her glaive flew from her hands and she felt a rather hard "something" connect with her jaw, sending her crashing to the floor again.

She scrambled to her feet again, yanking her sword from it sheath, looking around frantically for her attacker. "WHO'S THERE?" she yelled out, eyes narrowing as she peered around the dim room. "SHOW YOURSELF COWA-"
She was cut off by something pulling her feet out from under her. She slammed onto the floor, her nose inches from the hard stones. Enraged, She turned to look behind her, and her expression changed from one of fury to one of utter shock. A hand.... A single hand was coming from the floor... no... from her shadow and had latched itself onto her ankle.

Eri dealt a swift kick to the hand, her face contorted with a sort of furious glee. THIS was the fight she had been looking for. The hand, along with a strange pitch black creature, rose from her shadow and made a swipe at her face, knocking her sword away, and gripping her throat.

Eri's fingers pulled and yanked at those of the strange black creature, but to no avail. As her vision began to go black, she suddenly had an idea. It was dangerous, but she had no choice. It was this or be strangled. In a final act of desperation, she grasped the creature's shoulders.

She let out a scream of pain as the life she drained from the creature filled her veins. A moment later, the creature broke away, limping off down a hallway away from the strangle girl who now lay twitching on the floor.

((aaaadn I dunno what to write next XD I just realized that Eri would love the dungeon.. lots of things to fight and kill when one is in a rotten mood... until you become the one being hunted ^^;;; Anyway, I was bored, so I'm picking on Eri. This is what happens if she drains too much energy... particularly by direct contact with a real, living creature... owwie...))

((Finnick? What?))

The dungeon was not that nice of a place to be - which was why Phrixos was there. The mutt was still following him - trying to convince him that she cared about him and that the betrayer did too. He'd resorted to hiding out in all of the places she refused to go around the athenaeum as a result - because even if he was superior to most of the other petty beings here who weren't under his lord's care - he was still a student and he had to pretend to be nice sometimes just to keep the peace. Picking a fight with a mentor -even if she was the mutt - would be frowned upon.

So Phrixos was now wandering through the dungeon, both avoiding the mutt and honing his sword skills... It wasn't the first time Phrix had been in such an inhospitable place.. In fact his father had dumped him in worse places when he was much younger in order to toughen him up. Phrix's father had failed with the betrayer - but Phrix was a different matter.

With a swing of his sword, Phrixos beheaded the last of the monsters that had rushed him as he entered one of the dark and ominous corridors of the dungeon. Phrix winced as some of the blood splattered onto his left hand - burning him. 'Acid blood,' he mentally reminded himself 'stupid of you to forget Phrixos. Imagine if father had seen that. There's no room for stupidity like that.'

He carefully skirted the monster's corpse, and turned the corner into another hallway - deserted - but he didn't let his guard down. The deserted ones were the most dangerous...

It was then that he heard a shout from the room beyond the corridor "WHO'S THERE?" followed by a "SHOW YOURSELF COWA--" The voice cut off. Phrixos thought the voice was familiar - but he couldn't really place it - remembering random things like that wasn't really his strong suit - but it was probably some student at the Athenaeum - in some sort of trouble wandering the dungeons alone. Phrix chuckled to himself. It was an excellent opportunity to gauge that person's weaknesses and strengths. And if he got to prove his own superiority in the process - well that was just a bonus.

He hurried down the corridor, turning into the next room to see that obnoxious girl from the party, Emi or something - grappling with a black thing - more shadow than it was creature, yet solid enough to be strangling her, until - she put her hands on it and, with a shriek of pain from both her and the monster - the thing shriveled up - as though all of the life was being sucked out of it. The thing broke away from her and turned towards the exit - right towards Phrixos. But unlike it was when it attacked the girl - it was wobbling now.

Phrixos didn't even hesitate, and with a stroke of his sword the thing fell to the ground - dead. Prhixos moved past it, to where the girl was lying on the floor. He kept his distance, but crouched down to about her level. "What did you do to it?" He asked softly - slightly frightened in spite of himself. He'd never seen anyone suck the life out of anything like that before and he didn't like going into a battle unprepared.

((Finnick is an oc outside the athenaeum XD He's Irish))

Eri lay on the floor twitching and writing in pain when she heard a voice. In a panicked reflex, she twisted toward the source of the sound, about to lash out with a bolt of fire her red eye blazing until she recognized... Phrixos. She moaned in embarrassment.

"I-I drained its life..." she said fighting to keep her voice steady. "I-I've never tried in on an a-actual living.... c-creature before.." She looked up at him defiantly.

"I-I suppose you're g-going to... " she cut off abruptly as she felt another wave of pain from the excess energy in her body. She gulped, continuing. "G-going to make f-fun of me and tell me how pathetic I am now, right?" she choked out with a cynical, pained grin.

Phrixos frowned inwardly - though he made sure to keep his face in the same serious expression. He was... but when she put it like that... It sounded so heartless... And she was obviously hurting - badly... punishment enough...

He sighed, rolling his eyes. He turned away from her, picking up her sword from where it had fallen. "A man, being superior - never kicks a lady while she's down." He said seriously as he deftly twirled the sword so that the handle was facing her, his hand on the lowest part of the blade. "I'll remind you later how foolish it would be to test a new power on an unknown enemy, or how foolish it is to let one's emotions factor in at all in a battle," he rolled his eyes again, before giving her an almost playful grin "when you're feeling better, don't you worry."

He turned looking over his shoulder, getting ready for the next attack. There were monsters that could sense weakness this deep in the dungeons, and if they were going to strike - now would be the time. At the same time he was assessing. She could suck the life energy out of things, huh? He'd never encountered a power like that before, and it was definitely one to be wary of. He glanced back at her, a little more respect in his eyes. Just a little. "For now, we can't afford to let our guard down - not in a place like this." He paused, taking in her obvious pain. "I'm not a healer." He added - a twinge of something he didn't know in his voice. Regret? Sorrow?

Meanwhile behind Phrix, deeper in the shadows, another being lurked. It had just seen its kinsman die at the hands of the bright haired one, and it wanted revenge. It slithered out of the shadows, intent on avenging its kin while the bright-hair's back was turned...

Eri grinned back through her pain, a mischievous twinkle in her eye. "Men are superior eh?" she laughed, the sound edged with pain. "That's news to me." she said taking the sword from him with a shaking hand.

She looked up in mild surprise at hearing his tone soften as he told her he could not heal her. Was it possible that the mouse could feel? "I-I'll be fine... I-I think..." she said struggling to sit up, holding her head. "T-the one upside t-to this... abomination.. is th-that I seem to have s-stronger firepower for a b-bit.." she gulped again. "A-after draining that is..." She trailed off as she opened her eyes again to see a strange slithering creature approaching.

"Phrix! Behind you!" she yelled sending a jet of fire around him towards the creature.

Phrixos froze as the fireball passed inches away from his head, singing several blonde waves as it went bye (which irritated him more than he was willing to admit). "Watch the hair," he growled, going into full battle mode.

Phrixos whirled sword in hand to face the creature. It was similar to the one that had been strangling Eri (he had finally remembered her name) previously, though it seemed to be a different shade of inky black. The slain one was more of a reddish black, while this one had a distinct green tinge. Phrixos had never encountered these sorts of creatures before when his father had abandoned him in similar situations for training, but the colors, as well as the sinuous nature of the creature seemed to indicate that the creature was highly magical - and maybe elemental. It definitely didn't seem to like Eri's fire one bit - and had backed off. Which was all well and good - except for the little fact that it probably meant that these types of creatures were best bested by magic - which Phrixos himself was terrible at. Oh joy. And right where someone could watch him fail.

Keep cool - he reminded himself. I am the wind. I am cool, flowing. That was what all of his wind magic teachers had told him to do. He concentrated on those words - cool - flowing - and tried to summon wind magic to slice up the cowed creature - but when he flicked his hand nothing happened - per usual.

Phrixos frowned. "Gods damn it!" He yelled frustratedly. No - he'd just have to stick to what he was good at, and slashed at the creature with his sword - which the creature - now fully recovered from the fireball batted away like it was nothing more than a fly. Immediately Phrixos reached to his waist and drew his back-up dagger- but it wasn't looking good for him - unless he suddenly learned how to harness his non-existent magic or worse - asked Eri for help...

((Yawn- bedtime Wink ))

Eri's body had ceased the more violent of its twitchings with her use of the bolt of fire. The creature recoiled away from the light and heat of her fire as if repulsed.

"Ah, you don't like that do you?" she muttered, another grin spreading across her face as she struggled to her knees.

She smirked to herself as Phrixos growled at her for singeing his hair. "Would you rather you had lost your pretty head entirely?" she said as she flipped her hair out of her eyes, got to her feet, and turned to face the recovering monster. "A gentleman would be thanking me for saving his lovely neck" she said with a mischievous wink.

Despite her bravado, her knees were shaking far more than she cared to admit. She still had too much energy in her, and it was not treating her body well.

She saw his attempt at... some sort of magic she supposed, and was surprised to see he could not summon forth even the slightest bit. Was it possible he could not perform magic at all? It was not unheard of, but she was somewhat surprised that even someone as egotistical as Phrixos would try to summon what he did not seem to have.

She jumped a bit at his violent exclamation, but squared her stance and tightened her grip on her sword, daring the creature to come forward. However, as Phrixos raced forward, only to be disarmed by the creature, she stood uncertain whether to fight with her sword, or to sheathe the weapon and use the new excess stores of energy harvested from the previous creature.

Reaching a decision, she shoved the sword into its sheathe, willing the energy to move to her still-twitching hands. "Phrix! You might wanna move unless you want to endanger that pretty hair again." she called trying to steady herself enough to prepare her attack.

((Indeed.. same here. Talk to you again later X3))
