The Game!!

Eos finished setting up the bases he had gotten from his last trip to the human world. The warriors had needed some sort of recreation along with all their training. And baseball seemed the perfect game.

Now that he had set everything up, came the hard part, explaining the game to all of them.

He fumbled over his words a bit, as expected, and a few of them were just staring at him cluelessly, but it seemed like most of them understood. And if they didn't, well, they'd pick it up quickly.

"Uhm well... good luck," he said with a tight smile. "Blue team is in the field first, Red is up to bat."


((So basically, we're using the 6 sided dice and RPing what comes out:

1-first base
2-second base
3-third base
4-home run
5&6-out

Bat order doesn't matter, first come first serve I guess, for whichever team is up.
After three out or 9 runs the teams switch.
*And unlike regular baseball* the first team that gets to 30 wins.

I'll be keeping track Reffing as Eos, and playing as well.

Jane had never been much of one for sports herself. Sure she'd go to football games in high school and make fun of all the guys jumping on one another, and she was pretty athletic herself, but it had been a while since she'd played baseball. Still, she couldn't help but grin as she nodded. "Okay. Let's play some ball then."

Even though she was out in the field this time around, as she jogged to the outfield where she'd be more useful she wondered if swinging a scythe would help much with the swinging of a bat as well. It would probably feel different, but it was the same basic motion. She'd find out sooner or later.

Barney listened quietly at the back of the group of warriors as a blonde man explained baseball to them. From what he coult tell it was a lot like townball (which he'd played with some school mates back home), except slightly more civilized and definitely less painful.

He had just been let out of the infirmary and was yet to become acquainted with any other warriors, so this could be a perfect opportunity to do so. As of yet he'd only awkwardly walked around the grounds, observing some of the strange creatures and people.

Barney was sorted onto the blue team, so he grabbed a glove and positioned himself at third base, waiting for the game to start.

Eien stretched a little to get ready. In this game, he was in the red team. When he looked around the field, several people had already gathered and preparing themselves to start the game.

He himself had never played the game before. But it's new, so it ought to be fun!

Red team bats first, so he picked up his bat and got ready.

"I'll give this everything I've got," he thought excitedly with a grin.

Sylphaea walked towards the field a little shyly. There had been an announcement that the warriors would play a sport together. She feels up to the challenge, so she went towards the mentor Eos and listened carefully as he explained the rules. It appears that she had been sorted into the blue team.

Keeping an eye out for Cedric, she found out that he's in the red team. Sylphie smiled a little, wondering how the game would turn out. It must be nice to be able to play with the other warriors like this.

[Achlys Adonia Argyris]

Adonia Sat with the rest of her fellow warriors listening carefully to Eos' instructions, trying her best to remember everything. She had borrowed some clothes of a more practical nature than her usual water and scale attire, and her ridiculously long hair had been wound into a long, tight braid.

Now that Eos had finished speaking, she peered around her. She was on the blue team and was curious to see who else had been sorted onto her team.

Eri sat in the grass looking supremely bored as Eos explained the rules of the game. Rules annoyed he;, but since she had never played anything like this game before, she figures she should listen up rather than break most of the rules and end up in trouble... again.

She was soon glad she had listened to the rules, when it became clear to her that the object of the game was to whack a little ball as hard as one could with a wooden club of some sort. Admittedly the game would be much improved in her opinion if one were hitting certain people with said club, but oh well. As long as she wasn't on a team with said certain people, she'd be fine.

Jane looked around as the various warriors took their positions, wondering how long it would take this game to start. She folded her arms across her chest and tapped her foot. They were burning daylight here, and she was already hot waiting in the outfield.

[Kai]

Kai looked around and twiddled her thumbs awkwardly. No one was stepping up to the home-plate. It seemed no one really knew how to play, and the blonde mentor's explanation still left some people confused. No one wanted to be the first one to hit the ball.

So Kai sighed, and awkwardly shuffled up the the plate, holding the bat the way Jack had taught her when they had played their own version of the game. She took a deep breath, steadied herself, and swung as hard as she could as the ball came toward her.

Jane saw the ball go flying and as she started to run towards it, she wondered if whoever was currently batting had ever played before. If only she could catch it...it had been a long time since she'd played baseball though, and she realized too late that she wasn't going to make it. Still, she put on an extra burst of speed to try and get there as quickly as possible.

Cosette yelped as the ball flew past her head, the wind from it making her hair move. She stared wide eyed at the small Charis that had hit it, beacuse well, she was a Charis. Cosette blinked a couple times in surprise then ran after the ball, which was now rolling far off into the field. Crap she thought to herself as she lost to ball in the tall grass.

Kai flapped her little wings as hard as she could, making sure to stop and tap her foot on each base as she went, before finally touching her foot back on home base and falling over as her toes got caught on the base.

"Ooof," she whimpered. But then shakily stood and dusted herself off.

Jane found the ball and looked up, but the batter had already crossed home. Damn. She tossed the ball towards a girl who'd chased it like she had before returning to her place. Maybe next time.

Barney shuffled out of the way when the winged girl fluttered past his base. She was quite small...and yet had managed to get the first home-run of the game. It seemed that no typical rules applied to the people here.

He got back in position as the next batter got into place. He was determined to be of some help if the ball came anywhere near.

Eri Watched looking a tad surprised as the little charis smacked the little ball out far enough to get past all the bases. She decided to try her luck, grabbing a bat from a nearby pile and swinging it experimentally as she approached the base and glaring at the opposition's pitcher.

As the ball came flying towards her, she grinned cheekily swinging as hard as she possibly could.

((he he I'd offer Addi's services as a pitcher... but that would be hysterical and quite unlike her XD.))

Addi was at a loss as to what to do as the game started. She eventually settled for following Jane out to the outfield. As Kai hit the ball out toward them, she joined her friends trying to get the ball, the rules Eos had explained starting to make more sense as she saw the game.

As she headed back towards her place in the outfield as the charis reached home plate, she vaguely wondered if using one's powers would be considered cheating. Better safe than sorry she decided.

Eri was up to bat, and the ball came flying towards them again. What was it with all these good batters? Jane went running, wishing that she hadn't got so lazy without keeping in shape for her job. If all the batters were as good as this she'd be exhausted by the end of the game...

Eos smiled, then frowned. They were doing well, maybe a little too well. He hadn't taken into account the warrior's 'special' abilities. They weren't normal students by any means. Two runs already? Maybe he should have changed the rules to make it more challenging for them...

It seems that the others were scoring well. Eien was cheering for his teammates as they batted the ball and made their runs. He was up next, so he took his bat and got ready at his position. It'll be cool if he can hit as well as the others, too.

((Sorry for the delay, school, it eats your soul. I'll have Ruars pitch then, he'd seem like the type. Also I know veeery little about baseball D: ))

Ruairí had been looking forward to this since it had been announced. A chance to show off his athleticness? Sign him up. With his kilometre-long legs he was quite good at running. Or at least he prided himself so. Normally, in his clan, if the men would be doing any sort of competition it usually involved no-clothes, however Ruairí didn't think that too great an idea this time, so he'd worn pants. Wouldn't want to make the guys jealous.

He was the blue team's pitcher, which apparently meant he got to throw a ball as hard as he could and hope the other wouldn't hit it. Eos had explained everything quite well, at least the Celt thought he understood it well enough. so throw the ball he did, except that it hadn't really worked yet, they kept hitting it!

This time the ball didn't quite seem to be going far enough for her, so Jane watched anxiously. The red team was doing quite well so far, and all she'd been able to do was chase the ball! This was so frustrating.

Eri had finished her run around the bases and was sitting rather smugly indeed with the rest of her team-mates, feeling incredibly proud of herself as she continued to watch the game.
