My beloved - Page 2 Empty Re: My beloved

A tingle ran down Jacks spine making him shiver with a smile plastered on him face. "Right~" Clapping his hands together quickly, small droplets of water appeared between the space and moving his hands quickly, Jack sculpted the water into what looked like a small ocean and ship. "It started as a perilous quest into the brutal world of the barbaric east. A kingdom built on dust and sand, ruled and occupied by tyrants. We were searching for a famous treasure seeked by many but gaurded by the mythical yet mighty Fire god Ami". Jacks eyes were sparkling as the image between his hands changed to a large ferocious looking beast with with teeth and firey breath. Rising to a kneel, Jack raised his hands above his head, narrating the story physically and with the watery images. "He was taller than a mast and broader than a country. Eyes and breath of living fire, the heart of the sun beat within his chest. It was an amazing sight but he was our enemy when we proceded into the temple~" Jack paused for breath and thought.

Galene listened carefully at Jack's words. What a story he had, she thought with a smirk. She couldn't see the water figures he was making but culd image the giant creature he was talking about. "Let me guess... did you used his only weakness to destroy him?" she asked with a smirk on her face, thinking if this story was true or not.

Jack pouted childishly at the accusation but carried on telling the tale. It was true but some parts were more exaggerated. "We had to dispatch the gaurds of the entrance, they themselves where demonic creatures with bodies of men but heads of black, red eyed wolves. The headdresses they wore gave hint to the treasures inside, they had jewels embedded in the solid gold framework that were larger than a fist, which of course we took as spoils. The chamber was huge, there were solid statues made of rare and precious metals, and stones, the floor were made of diamonds and if you looked at your reflection in it you would claw your own throat out. But then the true guard of the sacred chest, crashed from the ceiling in a firey ball of black flame, making the world shake on its hinges. He could rival the king of titans with his size and brutality. He wiped out all my crew apart from me because he wanted to enjoy killing me. Ami's breath was molten fire and I almost lost my legs that day. But obviously I didn't~" Touching his shins Jack looked at them were nasty looking burns snaked up his legs. "You wanna know how I bested this great titanic god?"

Galene rolled her eyes under her blindfold but just smirked back. "Sure... I'm listening, ain't I?" she said, remaining still, wondering where he came from and what placed were that.

"Aye, aye" Jack was chuckling, this was his favorite part of the tale "Well me being Irish an'all I didn't flinch in front of this beastly monstrosity even why he stamped down on the floor, cracking the diamonds underfoot making a gap that if you looked into it, you could see the firey pits of the underworld. Oh no, he picked my up in one molten hand and squeezed until I nearly burst, cracking almost all my ribs and then he tried shoving me through the gap in the floor. I was stretched over the crack, hanging on by just my fingernails and looking up at this fire god. He was about to bring his great foot down on top of me when I took a chance, let go with one hand, freed my gun and shot him in one of his six eyes. That gave me the tiniest chance to spring out of the deathtrap of diamonds and claw my way up Ami's back. I reached his head and forced him to look down toward the floor, which drove him insane ad claw his own throat out. It wasn't a pretty sight, instead of blood, lava spewed from the wound and quickly started filling up the chamber. I grabbed what I could before racing toward the exit and leave the temple. I sailed away to the grand sight of the structure being engulfed in flames and sinking into the sand never to be seen again".

"Huh..." the water in between his hands vanished and he looked at the gorgon puzzled. "Its a either kill or be killed world, its how ya get along. Well it was where I came from..." Jacks voice faded off and he started pulling blades of grass out of the ground.

"Well, to kill or be killed... that's quite a phylosophy of life." she said, keeping a straight face. "But, why not to know people and too get along with them?" she said, obviously not believing her own words. For her, knowing people was always bad. Unless they were gorgons. And this guy was a nereid. Really bad.

"Either way, good tale. You are a nice storytaler."

"Hm thank you" he muttered before resuming his cheerful tone. "Well sometimes there's just no talking with people, and thats most times" Jack picked up on the slightest of flinches in the gorgons straight face and stopped smiling for a second. "Hey...you okay?"

"No need to thank..." she mumbled and couldn't agree with him more but she didn't nodded or say a word. She just remained silently, looking at her hands for a while before snapping back with Jack's question.

"I'm fine." she answered in a cold tone.

Above them the osprey had come back and was more wary this time of the reptile headed women. Deciding to take his chances Braelyn swooped down and landed between the pair, which made Jack perk up a little. "Aye Braelyn" he laughed softly before scratching underneath the birds beak. But his attention turned back to more immediate matters. "Hey i'm the lair here, I can tell when someone is lying....your not okay are yer?"

"Liar, huh?" Galene's snakes smelled the hair and approached lightly from the osprey in curiosity. "I could tell that, actually.... your story had some fantastic things in it... probably too fantastic." she said, trying to skip the question.

"Naw all true, I just put a better spin on it" Jack smirked, while Braelyn ruffled his feathers and nipped Jacks kness with his sharp beak. "Hey, I'm stroking yer aren't I" he scowled at the bird, making an extra fuss of him. "Will you lend me your hand for a minute" Jack asked innocently and touched Galenes wrist lightly with his fingers.

Galene blinked her eyes as Jack took her wrist but she was far too curious to refuse "Okay.... What are you going to do?" she asked, tilting her head.

Smiling Jack took the gorgons wrist lightly and led it over to rest on the Braelyn's feathers. Underneath her fingers, the osprey ruffled his feathers making his back fluffy and soft. "There, that shut you up now didn't it" he spoke to the bird, who now sat down with a contented look on his face. "Looks like that whole turning to stone things water under the bridge now".

As the osprey rested under her fingers, Galene stroke his feather's gently and a small smile came to her lips, fainting at Jack's words. "You know that you should really be careful with what you say, don't you?" she warn him, still stroking the bird.

"What do ya mean?" Jack smirked, laying back on the grass as contented as Braelyn was. If one looked closely, people would notice Braelyns moods reflected his own. "But I'll give ya a promise, I'll watch my sailors mouth around you...okay, I don't wanna make enemies with a pretty lady~" he chuckled the last part softly, he had just added it in cheekily and he prayed that the gorgon would see as the lighthearted joke it was. Otherwise the osprey was gonna be turned to stone...again.

Galene sighed "Well, you surely won't want me as your enemy... Having a gorgon as an enemy is not good for you health." she smirked devilishly and kept petting the osprey. The feathers were quite soft. "Well, you assumed that just because I'm a gorgon I turned everybody to stone for fun. It's not funny." she said with that cold tone.

"I assumed no such thing....your the assuming one assuming I assumed such a un-gentlemanly thing". Long sentences with repeated words were his speciality. "And no...it wasn't funny, otherwise you would have laughed" he added seriously, starting to scratch Braelyns neck feathers again, making the bird squark. "Fine then by that way mardy arse" he muttered at the osprey, crossing his arms and putting his head between his hands. "Urgh...so tired" he mumbled into his palms, rubbing his hands on his face, trying to rid the sleep from his features.

"Don't come with your confusing sentences...." she said in a serious tone. "Oh yes, every gorgon would have laughed at your lousy jokes about turning people they love into stone!" she ironically replied and heard as he mumbled.

"Then sleep. I can leave you alone." she said, shrugging her shoulders.

"I don't like being told what I said" he replied sullenly "Do you want me to quote for you, I have an excellent memory..." Jack proceded to tell the gorgon what he had said beforehand "Do you wait here for the pretty Nereid boys to come out so you can turn them to stone" As soon as the words were out of him mouth, he put two and two together and frowned. "Well yer can't fault a man fer not knowing...."

"That's why sometimes you can be prettier with your mouth closed." she said with an irritated tone. "You didn't say exactly that but you said that I turned guys like you into stone. No gorgon likes to hear that!" she hissed.

"S-sorr-y" Jack choked out the word, it was the hardest word for him to say since it seemed to burn out his throat if he even mummured the word. "You need to loosen up about these things otherwise your gonna get hurt everytime someone says something..." Jack said the words like they were brotherly advice and ran his fingers lightly over Galene's own. "Don't dwell on the past, otherwise....how are yer gonna step into the future". Retracting his hand he smiled and continued stroking Braelyn, who looked at him sternly through beady eyes.
