Personality: Alkaia can be cold and distant, barking orders at her students. She can sometimes be harsher on male students, but that's from growing up as an Amazon and from a past experience. She is very strict, but can relax every once in awhile. She does have a bit of a caring streak when she wants to, helping injured students, or ones with questions.

History: Alkaia had grown up in a remote Amazon tribe, growing up to the almost mantra-like phrase 'Men are evil'. When she was 15, Athena came to her, asking her to represent her at the Athenaeum. She felt proud that Athena had selected her and talked it over with her fellow Amazons. They all agreed that Alkaia should go and show everyone that the Amazons still had power.

Alkaia had trained long and hard throughout her days at the Athenaeum, paying mind to none of the males and making friends with very few of the females, only really talking to other Amazons who were under sponsorships. She had planned to win her fifth year, and it was evident that she was favoured to win.

Aphrodite, on the other hand, had different plans. She despised the Amazons and didn't want Alkaia to win, especially since she chose a warrior who was very strong, as well as handsome, but he might not be strong enough to take Alkaia head-on. So the male started talking to her more and becoming friendly with her at the end of their fourth year. She was persistent, but he kept going after and pursuing her. Soon she slowly gave in, meeting him in the forest when no one was around with stolen kisses. She refused to go far though, not wanting to give up her virtuous self in terror of excommunication from her family and friends.

As her fifth year slowly began to approach, Alkaia felt a little nervous, but thought that he wouldn't really fight her. He told her over and over that he loved her, and she started to believe him. She planned to tell him that she loved him as well after the Tournament was over. Once it all commenced, in the final three, it was Alkaia, the male she fell for, and another female. Alkaia had to face off against her secret lover, and was shocked when he then tried to kill her. He told her quietly when they were in close range that he just used her, trying to distract her so he could win. Feeling completely betrayed, she went a bit berserk, breaking five of his ribs, and left many gnarled gashes in his skin. Most of the scars on her body were wounds from him, minus the giant X on her heart. He learned fire magic, so he burned her skin in defense, but she still prevailed over him, saying he wasn't even worth killing.

After she faced off against the last warrior and won the Tournament, she tended to her own wounds after taking a piece of metal and burned a giant X over where her heart was, reminding herself to never trust men again. She begged for Athena's forgiveness for falling for a man. She then began teaching Swords and Daggers at the Athenaeum, caring not for anyone's opinions about her behaviour before. Word had never gotten out of her illicit relationship, not outside of the Athenaeum anyway. She became rather colder as the years went on, and still never forgave Aphrodite for her treachery, the male for deceiving her, but mostly she never forgave herself for falling for it.
