(( -SHOT FOR BAD PUN- ))

Oni came across the Infirmary, a rather interesting place. He's studied medicine, herbs, and a variety of liquids that helped out from curing a poison inside someone to even saving a life.

He muses over the room, looking over at the supply, striking his interested more and more by seeing familiar herbs he's read upon. If anyone saw him at this state, they would think he was in heaven.

While looking around, he remembered that he heard of a person that was a doctor around here by the name of Iva. He kept an eye out to see if she would appear...or anyone that might come in that needs caring.

Iva appeared back into the Infirmary. The was a warrior in there looking as though they were waiting for her. She mentally yelled at herself and pushed the door to the Infirmary open. "Hello, I'm Iva the doctor. Is there anything I can help you with? Any injuries?" She asked curiously.

Oni quickly looked over to see a female brunet. He was slightly shaken upon her entry, but then again, he's usually jumpy with meeting everyone. After announcing her name, Iva, his curiosity was at it's perk. She was the doctor that he heard about, and nearly a thousands questions popped into his head at the moment. However, questioning a person right when you just met them would be impolite.

"A-ah, Iva. I'm sorry to be of bother." With the remark, he gave Iva a bow in her direction. "I'm Oni, a first year at this school. And...No, I'm not injured or sick, but...Well..." He tailed off slightly. What would be a good response to ask her that he wanted her to be a sort of tutor for medical care?

"I've been intrigue with the studies of healing, actually. Using natural resources, such as herbs, roots, and common ingredients. And once I heard about you and your way of medical care...I was thrilled to know someone that had a similar interest. So...Well..." He takes a deep breath, trying to summon up all his courage to ask her this question. "I was wondering if...perhaps you could let a novice such as myself to study on your medical work?"

Iva watched as the boy as he introduced himself. He definitely had the looks of a first year and he looked a tad nervous when she appeared into the room. She walked over to her table covered in medicinal herbs setting down a few new plants she collected.

That was then that he started talking about his interest in herbal healing and asked if he could study her work. Iva nearly dropped all the new leaves and roots she had collected. "Oh...you're that interested healing by using natural resources?" She asked smiling brightly. "Of course I wouldn't mind you studying my medical work."

Upon the approval, Oni bowed again at her. "Oh, thank you so much!" From an instant, Oni went from timid and nervous to a more cheerful and enthusiastic characteristic. This brighten up his mood he had towards the Athenaeum. "I, ah...I hope not to be a bother to you...Or if I get in the way." Oni pleaded, slightly chuckling as if it was a joke.

Iva grinned at Oni. "Its really no problem at all and don't worry you won't get in my way." She turned around to set the passion flower on the table. "So tell me Oni, what have you studied so far?" Iva asked and turned back around. She walked over to her desk and offered a chair for him to sit at. The Amazon figured the two of the would be chatting awhile.

"Ah, thank you." Oni gladly took the seat, and his mind began to twirl inside his head. He's studied...almost everything there was to learn back to where he was. But of course being in a new zone, that may all be different.

"Well back in my hometown, I've studied upon nearly all the plants that contains the phytochemicals compound, that could help affect the health of the person who ingests it. Some with outstanding outcomes that could save a live...Though pronounce to be more sacred and holy then medical upon religion. Although I did keep in mind to research any possible con to using the medicine, such as overdose that could either harm the body, or kill them...." He leaned his back against the chair, giving a sigh in relieve that he could talk about the subject he so loved about to a person that has the same desire. "Ah...Even so, I'm still only a novice, and since I'm in a whole new surrounding, it might be better to study the topic with another individual..." He looks over to Iva, giving a warm, grateful smile.

Iva nodded and enjoyed listening to Oni talk about medicine. It was so nice to have someone into the same thing as she. She smiled kindly to the boy. "Well I'm very impressed with you, Oni, thats for sure. You studied a lot by yourself." Iva said offering him another smile.

"You are also very right when you say its better to study a topic with another individual. I know from own experience back in my Amazon tribe. I wanted to become a doctor for the tribe but under some circumstances; I had to study all of this by myself with no help from anyone. It was tough of course, but thankfully when I came here I had the library with books from all centuries with vast knowledge. Oh I do recommend going to the library, as well as studying my work." Iva finished and then all of sudden she realized something, she had forgotten to offer tea.

"I may be an Amazon, but I am rather civilized. Would you like some tea?" Iva asked cheerfully from over her shoulder as she headed over to grab her little pot and to start boiling it with a fire in the fire pit she made get put in there.

((I would think the infirmary would be a mix of all centuries. A little modern and a little Amazon like; with a few different centuries thrown in there.))

(( Mhm, fancy~ ouo ))

Oni gave a slight blush from the remark, smiling back at her. "Heh heh, well it helps when you have a good cause for studying a topic that could help change the world."

"Oh yes, tea would be lovely." Oni responded with delight, being tea one of his common favorite drinks back at home. Whenever he was off to study, he'll usually always have a cup right next to him. "The library....Indeed, one of the worlds most reliable source of seeking out for knowledge. Which is great, because then it'll be a two for one deal! Studying and learning about medical herbs while using them in practice." He laughed while sitting still as he awaits for the tea to be ready.

Iva smiled and nodded as she listened to Oni, most of her focus was on the water boiling. The tea leaves! How could she possibly forget. "I have black and green tea leaves. But I'm sure I could rummage up some other leaves for you as well." Iva picked up the boiling hot pot with a cloth and set it on another cloth on the counter.

"Oh please, green tea would be just fine." Oni said, looking back at Iva with a smile. He continues to wait patiently for Iva to prepare the tea until a question came to his mind. "So Iva...How long have you been here in the Athenaeum?"

Iva quickly prepared the tea and walked back over to the desk. She set a tea cup down in front of him. She blinked and then thought for a moment. "I've been here for...oh my I've lost track of time. Maybe century by now...possibly...hm I came here when I was a mere first year like you. Artemis visited me one day in my tribe and offered me a way out of my personal he-" Iva stopped, she was giving away her life story without even thinking. She shook her head and looked to her hands. "The Athenaeum has been my home for as long as I can remember."

Oni's head tilted slightly right when she paused. He took the tea into his hand, looking up to her. "Uh huh....Oh, do continue the story, please. It sounds fascinating." Oni urged Iva, after taking a sip of the tea in delight.

"My life fascinating? An existance people called....what's the right word?" Iva mused aloud trying to think of the right adjective. "Oh, a disgrace. I wasn't born of pure Amazon blood the Elders said. The old bats, weren't fond of me or my mother." She stopped again. "Either way Oni, the Amazon's of my old home hated me, despised me for something my mother did. Lady Artemis always had a open heart to the people who didn't belong, the misfits. She appeared before me and offered me my way out, it's as simple as that." Iva finished with a grimace, remembering her childhood.

Oni gave out a curious look at her. "But...if you two were so hated, then why stay there? Sure, it's home to you, but...I don't know. Having people around you that don't really think highly of you...Wouldn't that give you a bit of a chill down your spine? I'd try to find somewhere else to live a-" Oni stopped his train of though. There had to be a reason why Iva didn't. "..Why did you stay?"

Iva looked at him for a moment. "I never really thought of leaving quite honestly. You're probably wondering why, I didn't know what was out there." She thought for a moment of her mother, so frail and weak for an Amazon. Iva looked to Oni for a moment. "Do you have something in your life that you wish to protect? That you feel is your responsibility and that you must look after? I had that and I couldn't abandon that person."

"Yeah...The same reason that brought me here, otherwise I wouldn't have been here in the first place. My sister." Oni looked down at his cup of tea, seeing the faint reflection of his face. "She's a good person, she really is. However she tends to be...well a bit over her head. I'm here to make sure that she wouldn't end up hurting herself or getting herself killed like last time..." His voice trailed off right when he said 'like last time'. The image of the event was bad enough, but seeing it through was almost too much for his mind to bare...And to his own sister non the less.

Oni glanced at her. This sort of matter shouldn't really be said out to the world...But one reason why he is studying so hard for medical cures was to help himself with what he has. "Last time..." He gave out a sigh, looking back down as if he couldn't tell this to anyone eye to eye. "My sister got a bit carried away from a fight. Her injuries were nearly fatal. We almost lost her...That is until I found out that my powers were to heal others, which couldn't have been a better time to figure it out when I got her out of the fight."

He continued. "In the allyway where she was about to lose her ability to breath, a power overcame me...Like my hands wouldn't want to get off of my sister's sides. Within the moment, the cuts on her began to stitch themselves. All the cuts...were heal. I was shocked mostly...But happy inside that they were gone...She began to breath normally. We were glad that we were able to pull out of there before it was too late...But then...Ah...Well the rest doesn't matter." He again trailed off, as if there was more to the story then he said.

Iva didn't really know what to say, she simply listened to him tell his story. When he stopped, Iva looked at him biting her lip a moment. "Oni...is there more to the story?"

".....These powers I have..." He slowly looked up to Iva, now directly into her eyes. "They bare a bit of a backfire mechanic. I saved my sister, but right there, while we were both still puzzled at the miracle, something felt like it was stabbing my insides..." Oni's hand slowly reach over to his chest, resting on where his heart would be. "I passed out from using my powers to save her. She had to carry me out and back home to where out mother and father was, where I laid to rest for what they said was three days. Mother was more worried about using my powers again and my sister for her head-strong attitude. Father....Wasn't one to tolerate such things." Oni's hand went back down to his side, musing over the thought of it all.

"...It's a reason why I study so hard...I'm not sure whether if this is a consequence for overexerting my powers, or perhaps it's a birth defect...Or a disease...I want to see if I can find a cure for this...Whatever this may be..."

Iva blinked and blinked; in fact she kept on blinking. She had never heard of something quite like this in her many years. "Oni...I'm sorry but I don't have a clue about your power or how it works. But I want to help out in discovering what it is exactly. I can do a lot of research for you, if you would like?" She asked him, suddenly realizing she was just hopping in when Oni might want to work this out himself.

((I'm so sorry this is sooooo late. I forgot about it and with school...I'm so very busy.))

(Oh please, take as long as you like to respond, no hurry what so ever~ )

Oni looked over to Iva. Even he isn't sure about his powers exactly, but more then enough that could cause some sort of problem. His eyebrow lowered, slightly surprise of the offer he was given. He could use all the help he could get, but getting more people involve with this could cause a more problematic result.

"That's a kind offer, Iva...Really, but I'm not sure if this is something you may want to look into..."

He sees that he wasn't going to change her mind. Knowing doctors who are really into their career and really cares about their patients WILL indeed go into any sicknesses and find a cure, one way or another.

"Alright, Iva. I appreciate you helping me with my situation." Oni's mind sort of wondered a bit as it seems his powers have invoked Iva's interests. "Well it's nothing really special. I just...You know, help with healing cuts, whether it's internal or external. You know, something that anyone can do with the right tools."
