"Indeed they do" she said just a bit sadly before moving back towards the black roses. "Do you think anyone would mind if I took just one?" she asked eying the black blooms.

Tilting her head to the side, she shrugged. "I don't think so...as long as you were careful and made it look like there wasn't one missing it should be fine. I mean, people wouldn't notice, and even if they did it wouldn't matter as long as the roses still looked nice. Right?"

Anastasia needed to get out of her room in the mentor's quarters, she needed to breathe the fresh air of the gardens and see all the gorgeous flowers. It was a rather nice day, she noted as she made her way to the gardens. A lovely breeze, the sun shining, not too hot not too cold, simply perfect like it usually was in the Haven.

Upon entering the gardens she noticed two students, from the looks of it a first year and a second year. Anastasia made her way over to them to say a friendly hello and then make her way to a different section of the gardens. "Hello, girls." She paused and then looked at what they were doing. Her eyebrow raised a bit. "Um what exactly are you two doing?" The mentor inquired of the girls.

Eri looked up and cocked her head and said. "I was looking for some roses. I saw these black ones and was wondering if it would be ok to pick one for my room... I've never seen a black rose before..." she grinned nervously. "but if that's not ok, I guess I can try growing one myself.. or something."

"Well, Mnemosyne does have the rule the picking flowers is forbidden and there are many different dryads who care for these gardens that if they saw you picking a flower you'd be off to Mnemosyne's office." Anastasia explained and by the looks of the one girl, she could tell her presence was making her nervous. "But I am not Mnemosyne nor a dryad, I am a nereid who thinks one would not miss a single rose." Anastasia said with a wink and grin before continuing, "Be careful which one you chose to pick, go for one that would not be so obvious when missing; like that one there." The usually strict mentor pointed to a less obvious rose.

((Sorry for beating you to it XD I was sick all day and stayed home from school, so I did a lot of catching up on the forum.))

Eri grinned devilishly "Thank you" she said, picking the one the woman had pointed out.

"I'm Eri by the way... Eri iris" she said holding the black rose close to her.

"You are welcome." Anastasia grinned at Eri. "I am Anastasia, I'm mentor for Poseidon and Amphitrite. And who is your sponsor, Miss Eri?" The nereid asked starting the generic conversation when one meets another here at the Haven.

Eri blanched a bit at the mention of mentors. She was still awaiting a lecture from Tahi for the whole 'PJ Party incident'.

"Pleasure to meet you miss" she said with a bow. These manners were getting a bit easier to remember. "M-my mentors are Miss Tahirah and Lord Kallistrates." she said quietly.

"No need to bow, Eri. Oh, Kallistrates and Tahi? Thats makes you one of Lady Hestia's, correct?" Anastasia asked just to make sure, even though she indeed know that the answer was yes. "I apologize for being so blunt but any reason why you are so fidgety and nervous, Eri?"

Andrasteia had spaced out slightly after the appearance of the mentor, but recovered herself quickly. "I was just showing her around the gardens a bit," she said, speaking up. "Sorry. I'm Andrasteia, one of Lord Hades and Lady Persephone's."

Anastasia simply nodded at Eri, not really believing she was okay in her presence. She looked to Andrasteia and chuckled a bit. "You two look like deer in headlights when I showed up and started talking. But a pleasure meeting the two of you." Anastasia said with a small grin.

"No need to call me milady Eri." Anastasia told the first year. "I was merely getting a bit of fresh air. Lately I've been cooped up in my room in the mentor's quarters. ((a.k.a my excuse for never roleplaying as her XD))" She explained, as she bent down plucked a white rose off the bush, next to the black roses, for herself. "And did the two of you come out here to pick flowers?" Anastasia asked.

"Oh, you didn't bother me," she said, waving her hand dismissively. "I was just doing some reading, and it's just so nice to sit out in the fresh air while I do so, among all the flowers...besides, I'm always happy in the garden, it's hard to disturb me when I'm here."

Eri smiled at her friend. "Gardens are rather relaxing aren't they?" she said thinking of the large garden her family had kept.

"They're also great places to hide" she said with a mischievous grin, thinking about the numerous times she had hidden in the shelter of the various trees, bushes, and flower patches.

"As long as you can hide without damaging the plants they are," she said thoughtfully. "I mean, not only would you make your garden look messy but you'd give away your hiding spot. But I can definitely see hiding among the flowers..."

"Of course!" Eri giggled. "I would never want to hurt the plants... I may be a Lampad, but Mama is a Dryad, like Oni, so I still have some connection to plants and earth." she said looking at the flower she had attempted to grow sheepishly. "I'm just not as good at it, as I am with fire...."

Anastasia was barely paying attention to the two girls. She gave them both a smile. "I'll best be leaving you two back to your conversation. I reckon I'll see you both around the Haven." Anastasia gave a little wave as she disappeared into the other parts of the garden.

Eri curtsied, watching her walk away curiously. "What exactly is a Nereid?" she asked Adrasteia cocking her head. She was certain she had heard the name before and that it had something to do with water, but she couldn't remember.

"Hmm...let me think," Andras said, wracking her brains and trying to think of what she'd learned from random books and her teachers here. "I think they're like Naiads. I'm not sure what the difference is though. I should probably learn, that sounds like something I should have learned from Lady Mnemosyne first year..."
