Re: A Rose by Any Other Name
"Well, water people at least." Andras bit her lip. "I really should know all this stuff, I mean, it's pretty basic when you think about it, but there have always been much more interesting things to read about..." she paused for a second.
"In my opinion, of course. I know there are several people who find it all enjoyable and fascinating," she added diplomatically.
[ ...liiiiike me xD ]

Eri wrinkled her nose and stuck out her tongue a bit. 'I never cared much for books..." she said. This was not entirely true. While she was not much of a reader, she did love fairytale books, and had enjoyed studying German and engineering, despite her general lack of enthusiasm for reading and studying.
((I used to read mythology aaaaaall the time as a kid XD))

"I prefer learning hands on," she agreed. "But there are so many interesting things you can learn that nobody else would teach you because they don't have time or they're too busy, and that's when a book is useful. Like for flowers. I've done most of my learning out of books."
Andras gestured to the book in her hand, one finger still tucked in between the pages to keep her place while it was smudged with dirt.
[ I remember in like...3rd grade I found a mythology book and I was so excited about it xD That's when I really got into myths and stuff. ]

"I suppose so" Eri said. "I still prefer just going out and trying stuff. I get bored staring at pages and words. After a while, they turn to mish mush" she giggled.
((I used to have a big book of mythology that I got for Christmas as a kid... I don't know where it went though... I'm pretty sure it got lost in one of our moves.))

"That's why I like to read out here," she said, glancing around at the flowers with a distant smile. "Also, if I find something really interesting about some kind of flower I can go look at it instantly."
[ Aw, that's too bad. I'd love to have a big book of mythology *.* Actually, I get to read a myth right now to help with my homework, makes me pretty happy x3 ]

"I suppose that makes sense" Eri said cocking her head for a moment. "Books definitely have their uses" she admitted, somewhat grudgingly. "I guess I just have too much energy to sit still for long" she giggled

"That would be a problem," she replied with another giggle. "I come out here to calm myself down sometimes, though that doesn't always work. There are those days when you can't seem to do anything but get up and do something active."

"Sounds like me every day" Eri said laughing. "I think the only times I've ever been able to sit still for more than 2 minutes was whenever I was sick...and not just a little sick, I mean reeeeeeaaaally sick."

She laughed. "I can picture that." It didn't take the biggest stretch of imagination, except for maybe to picture Eri bedridden.

Eri shrugged. "The time when I was confined to my room from a ...er... rather serious fencing wound was probably the most wonderful and peaceful time my family and their household has even known." she said wryly.

"Ah, I bet they missed it without even realizing," she said. "I mean, when you're used to something, you might miss it even if you don't realize."

Eri grinned "Perhaps" she said cocking her a bit as if in thought. "If nothing else, I'm sure my father enjoyed the respite. Oni stayed with me a lot during that time though."
