Her snakey hair spread across the green field, almost missing with it if it wasn't moving. Galene took her blindfold and gazed her eyes across the light blue sky. It was another thing that reminded her the ocean and she couldn't turn to stone and that made her smile a bit.

But her yellow eyes still held the pain from the years. Even though she had talked to Anastacia and Jack, she was one stubborn person that just couldn't forget. Maybe if she fell in love again, she would forget but.... how can love a gorgon? Weren't they hated by being creatures with snakes on their heads and turning people into stone?

She sighed and touched the grass gently with her hands as she layed on the beautiful fields. She just needed to relax... and don't think about it anymore. As if it was easy.

[Ruairí]

Ruairi'd been lucky to spot the Snake Lady in the field. He'd been running through the grass with Padraig, playing a put of fetch with one of the Athenaeum's discuses, which he may or may not have gotten permission for. He'd been trying to catch the lassie ever since the rather unfortunate happenings of the party, and here she was.

"Padraig, I want you to go back to the grounds, okay?" he asked it, but it was clear to be an order and Padraig complied, though not without protesting. Still he was secretly glad not to have to get close to the woman with the snakes.

Trying to walk softly toward her, though more likely than not failing at the quietness, Ruairi approached the Gorgon, however he did posses a little bit of sense.

"I'm announcing my presence, so that you might not accidentally turn me to stone," he said, noticing her blindfold not being on. "However, considering past events, I'm going to keep my eyes closed anyway in case, you know, of non-accidental turning to stone."

The time of relax was over when she heard a familiar and not so wanted voice in her ears. When Ruairí talked to her, she sighed heavily and growled "Give me one good reason not to turn you into stone, you filfthy bastard." she said, her eyes still in the sky.

"You seriously deserve some stone turning after what you did. I'm not a doll for you to play." she grabbed her blindfold and placed it again over her eyes.

[Ruairí]

"I have my eyes closed, haHA, you can't!" As he said he peeked through his eyelashes and took a step forward, then sitting in the grass about half a meter from Galene, clenching his eyes shut again.

"You won't turn me to stone because you're not the kind of Gorgon who purposely turns men to stone," he said quite seriously. "It was only a kiss, a kiss is meaningless until you give it meaning."

Galene snorted, unamused and took her blindfold again to see him. She wished she could turn him into stone but that would bring her problems and because Ruairí was indeed right. She didn't want to.

"Don't open your eyes... I have mine's open." she growled while scanning him. "For me a kiss means very much. The problem is from who it is... and I didn't want a kiss from you."

[Ruairí]

"Alright, closed as can be," he said, literally pressing his eyes together. Oh the urge to take a sneak peek... But no, he did value his life, and, well, not-of-stoneness.

"Hey, I told you I won't do it again unless you ask me. I tend to keep that promise."

"Good... I have mine's wide open." she teased, knowing he was far to curious about her eyes. She looked that he has some weird looking blue markings all over his face, markings that she hadn't seen on the ceremony.

"I didn't ask you on the Ceremony and you did kiss me. Why the hell did you done something I didn't want it?" she asked with a small growl.

[Ruairí]

"I wouldn't want it any other way," Ruairi teased right back. "Wouldn't want you to miss the opportunity of looking at such a handsome guy as I."

"You didn't say that you didn't want me either, remember. How could I have known that it was something you didn't want? Usually girls don't complain when I kiss them." Ruairi countered, crossing his arms.

"I'm not admiring you, don't worry, jerk. I'm just tired of having spells and my eyes covered with cloth." she said, rubbing her eyes gently. "Besides, i don't remember those markings of yours."

"Well, how did you assume I wanted? Don't you know what body language is? Or are you that dumb to see that I didn't even want that 'one-on-one' time with you?" she said with a roll of eyes.

[Ruairí]

"Of cooourse you're not," Ruairi said, raising one eyebrows. "Oh the woad? It's war-paint, it helps the Gods to find me when I need it, or that what they told me. It's not your Gods, but mine that would help." He grinned then, breaking the seriousness by flexing his pecs one by one. "Plus, it makes me look dead sexy doesn't it?"

"Actually I simply assumed that I'd find out about your feelings when the time came, and I did didn't I?" Ruairi shrugged, to him it was all the same, she'd come around eventually. "Actually, I still think you want that one-on-one time with me, you're just to proud and stubborn to admit it!"

Galene growled lightly as if she wanted him to shut up. She could just stand up and walk away but she was no girl to do that without a final response and a winning smile on her face. "Actually it makes you look weird. It seems that your veins are coming out." she said, making a small face.

"Pfft, when that day come, I will be a death viper. Do you and then kill you. I bet I would do a favour to the world, actually." she said, taking her blindfold again and putting it on. "Again, I'm tired of seeing douchebags, so you can open your eyes now." she said, as soon as she finished giving the knot.

[Ruairí]

"Aw now you're just saying that on purpose," Ruairi said in a whiny voice, though still smiling. "It's okay to admit it you know, you're attracted to me, I can see it!"

"Now that's not nice, not nice at all. Ah," he let out a breath of relief when he opened his eyes again, the muscles kind of hurt from all that clenching them closed.

"You really think I'm a heartless monster do you?" He thought a moment. "I don't know, you might be right, who knows. But I do think you've come to that conclusion pretty quickly."

"Okay, let me put this straight, being attracted isn't the same as being in love and I don't want to be with somebody just because I'm attracted to it." she made another face again. "It's just... no."

"It's not supposed to be nice. It's supposed to be cruel." she said, crossing her arms over her chest.

Galene nodded frenetically at his question. "Of course! You only care about sex, sex, sex, eat, women, boobs, fighting, sex, sex, nude." she said, using her fingers to count what he liked.

"Right-o Snake Lady," Ruairi said, a tad disappointed. "I suppose you have your right and all, just know I won't stop trying. I can be very persistent you know."

"Hey! You forgot about Padraig, I care for Padraig," he huffed mock-grumbled. "But ehm yeah, that pretty much sums it up- wait, no! Not boobs! I'm more of a butt guy."

"Trying what? What can you possibly try with me? You are not getting laid with me, not a single change." she said with a small growl, turning her head a bit away from him, her snakes still gazing him.

"Oh, so sorry." she said with sarcasm. "From behind is better for you, figures." she rolled her eyes, avoiding facing him.

[Ruairí]

"Trying to win you over," Ruairi said with a smooth smile, which most likely went completely lost underneath the blindfold. Ah, well, it was a bit of a habit, Ruairi was definitely not used to wooing girls who wouldn't see...

"Oh come on, I'm not that shallow and sex-addicted," He felt kind of insulted, which was something new for Ruairi, Ruairi barely ever really let things get to him, but for some reason he really didn't want her to think of him so lowly.

It must be the snakes, he was growing rather fond of them.

"Why? Does it hurt and itch you that you have a girl in your life that you will never win over?" Galene smirked, thinking she could get on some soft spot of the tall warrior.

"Yeah right, keep buring yourself with your own words." Galene was not convinced at all. Guys like him existed in the world, it was inevitable but Galene was not very fond of them. They made her itch and growl several times.

[Ruairí]

"No, I've been rejected before, actually I think there's a scar here somewhere that came from a lassie who didn't quite like me," Ruairi looked over his scars a moment trying to remember. "Oh right! It's the one on my back!" There was a long scar running between his shoulderblades from where she'd slashed and he hadn't scrambled out of her way quickly enough.

"No, it's because I think you're worth it," he said it sincerely. He did think she was worth if, if only just as a friend.

Ruairi sighed and dropped on his back in the grass. "I'm just not lying to myself, is all," he said with another sigh. "I know who and what I am, and I have no problems admitting that." He reached out to one of the snakes, he liked the little buddies. Maybe he could always get a pet snake, if Padraig wouldn't probably try to kill it...

"Probably you deserve it... I too have my scars but not from being rejected..." by a guy, of course, she thought but bit her tongue to stop herself from saying anything else. She had accepted her scars, that's why her dresses were starting to be back open, reason why she was wearing one.

"Worth it....?" Galene mumbled his words while blinking her eyes. Worth the try? A gorgon? Yeah, right, just one more that's it, she though with a small sigh.

Feeling him touching the snakes, they smelled the air and bumped into him in delight, while Galene kept looking on another direction. "Good for you..." she said in a low tone.

[Ruairí]

"Hm, I suppose I did deserve that one," he said, thinking about it a little more. Yeah he had definitely deserved that one. "But not all of them all from women, in fact I think that's the only one I've got from a woman I was trying to woo, the rest are all from battle."

"See this one?" He pointed at the four aligned scars on his right elbow. "That's from fighting a chimaera in the forest one night, we got that one good me and Padraig. And this one," He pointed to the scar on his nose. "I got that one on my very first raid! And it was the second one when my nose got broken," he laughed. "Now that was something, blood everywhere! Hurt like nothing else though."

Ruairi softly scratched the head of one of the snakes, smiling at the buggers. "Yeah, worth it. You're interesting, and I'm not just saying it because I'm some player. You know I'd be fine with just being friends, if only for these things. It would break their heart not to!"

[Guest]

"Obviously, most of the people in the Athenaeum have scars because of battles. Some are careless scars, others are just plain ugly and sad to see." Galene said perking as he pointed to the various spots of his scars.

"I can't see them now, but yes, I've seen them." she turned her back to him and pointed at the three big scars she had, one crossing her back from her shoulder blade to her waist. "I too have scars."

"If it's just to be friends, I'm okay with it. Being friends never hurt me and I think they are needed... I hope you don't cross the line.." she said with a small sigh. "If my snakes could smile, they would be doing it right now." she hid her smile with her fingers, pretending to be scratching.

[Ruairí]

"Oh, right, you can't see them," he said a little disappointed. Ruairi definitely kept forgetting that she had that blindfold.

"Where'd you get those ones? They look like they hurt," he said it like it was the greatest achievement ever to get such epic scars. Naturally that was exactly how Ruairi thought about it.

"I told you, I won't kill you unless you ask me to," he said lightly. "Wait... do you hear what your snakes think?"

[Guest]

"Yeah, but don't worry, I saw them when you got your eyes closed." she said, turning again to him with a more serious face.

"My whip. Believe me they hurted and they were done at a young age." she said in a low tone of voice, not mentioning that it was her father's doing. For being born during Winter, for always loving the animals, for loving a naiad.

"I will say the same and yes, well, kind of." she pet on of her snakes "I can feel what they feel, they have personality too, you know?"
