Ready for Fun
Andrasteia was confident this year. She was sixteen now, for a little over a week, and was sporting a pretty new dress that she'd gotten for her birthday. It was red, like last year, and very not her, but she was determined to get out and meet more people than she had. This year she'd take a more...aggressive stance, instead of waiting for people to come to her she'd go to them.
Still, she felt herself growing just a little nervous as she stepped into the room filled with students and mentors. Maybe she'd see someone familiar, like Zephyra.

Re: Ready for Fun
Phrixos entered the ballroom, his characteristic sneer on his face, cold calculating determination set in his mind. He was here. He was ready to win glory for his lord and prove once and for all that he was superior to his elder siblings - the mutt and the betrayer.
If truth be told, he really hated parties. The women were all dressed up like Peacocks - vain as always, and they would be gossiping and chatting, like they didn't have a care in the world. It reminded him of his twin, Myrina. She was the one who liked parties. He smiled inwardly at the thought - but quickly banished it from his mind. He wasn't going to think about Myrina right now, knowing all too well that his sister was probably his only soft spot.
But the fact remained that parties were for women - so that they could indulge themselves in all the pageantry and uselessness they enjoyed so much. Phrixos supposed that they might as well. They really weren't good for much else. But men - men had better things to do than preen about and indulge in such frivolity.
Phrixos sighed. This was just one more challenge to overcome he thought, as he headed towards the refreshment table for a drink. As a first year, he was at a disadvantage. He didn't know anyone here - except for the betrayer - who he knew was avoiding him. And he knew of the mutt - although he had never met her. But he knew she'd be easy to spot. There were very few nephelae with dark colored skin. But besides them, he didn't know much about the people here - and that put him in a spot he didn't like.
If he was going to show up his siblings he'd need more information. That would be his mission tonight. Mingle. Play nice. And find out every one of these people's weaknesses so that when the time came, and it was his time to act - he could destroy them all.
He spotted his first victim, a nervous looking girl in a red dress - who looked to be about his age. Fixing a fake smile on his face, he walked over to her. "Hello," he said, with a small courtly bow and a seductive smile. "I couldn't help noticing you're all alone over here, and thought you might welcome some company. My name is Phrixos, first year warrior to the king of the gods and son of Dion the great nephelae general. And you are?" He noticed the lamp at her waist. A Lampad, he noted to himself.

Wasn't sure of what to think of this new place he was taken to, Oni stepped inside the ballroom with his top-hat on. He wasn't too sure with the regulation of the ballroom since he has no real experience with interacting with new people.
Not knowing how to act or what to do, he goes to the back as he watches the others in the ballroom. He wasn't the one that would start a conversation, or rather be in one to begin with, so he kept to himself unless otherwise.

Re: Ready for Fun
She nodded cordially back at the stranger, remembering her first Ceremony of Eisodos. "Why hello there," she said, taking in his appearance. "Company would indeed be greatly appreciated. My name is Andrasteia, a Lampad sponsored by Hades and Persephone, on behalf of my lady Hecate. I'm a second year. Pleased to meet you, Phrixos."
She felt more and more comfortable as she spoke, and ran her fingers over the old and soft yet tough rope holding her lamp. "So how have you been enjoying the ceremony so far? I remember my first time, made me a little nervous."

Re: Ready for Fun
Cedric walked inside the ballroom with his walking cane and his tophat. He sure loved his outfit, probably the only really formal one that he got. The cane was echoing on the floor and his eyes, one with a monocule, the other with a spell, scanned the surrounding area.
No Sylphie to be seen. He sighed sadly and spotted a group of first years. And Miss Andrasteia? He walked towards them, curious about the new commers actually.
He stopped and bowed at everybody. "Good evening."

Re: Ready for Fun
Phrixos noticed her running her fingers over her lamp's rope. So she was still nervous. Yes this lampad definitely had confidence issues. He could use that. But for now it was better to be nice and gain her trust...
"The pleasure is all mine, milady."
When she asked how he was enjoying the ceremony, Phrixos decided to answer honestly. "It was as I expected. I've been training for this long before I was chosen by my Lord. It was all I ever knew." He paused, about to elaborate when another boy approached them - this one looking much older than the lampad he was currently investigating. Excellent. A new opportunity.
Phrixos returned the bow gracefully. "Hello." he said, introducing himself once again. "My name is Phrixos, first year warrior to the king of the gods and son of Dion the great nephelae general. And you are?" Phrixos studied the boy. No obvious nymph features. He must be human - Phrixos decided.

Eri sauntered into the ballroom the picture of female confidence her long gown trailing behind her on the floor. She had spotted her brother, and bounded over to him with a cheerful squeal. "Big brother!!!" she squealed happily as she hugged him from behind.
(here' her gown btw... can't decide on colors yet though T^T http://elnamis.deviantart.com/#/d37avsm)

From the sudden glomp, he flinched slightly, looks behind his back to see Eri. "S-sister, shhhh, not so loud..." He wasn't one to make any loud noises to draw any attention to himself, yet with his sister around, it was hard to keep himself unnoticed.

Re: Ready for Fun
"Awwww c'mon Oniii" Eri said with a puppy-eyed pout. "This is a party! We're supposed to be loud and annoying after that boring ceremony.... Good heavens it took forever!"
The not too far away she noticed a group of people conversing. She could see a young woman who seemed to be a lampad, a superior looking boy, and a young man dressed similarly to herself and her brother. "Ooh look people! Let go say hi!" she squeaked happily running to go meet them, dragging Oni behind her. "Hi there everyone!" she said boisterously.

Re: Ready for Fun
Cedric blinked his eyes at the young male as he introduced himself. "Nice to meet you, Phrixos. My name's Cedric Oswald, 5th year student of Hermes." he said and turned to see two also young looking people. A boy and a girl and their clothing was quite familiar to Cedric.
He smiled and bowed "Nice to meet you, I'm Cedric."

"Hello there!" Eri said buoyantly, bouncing on her toes as she spoke. "I'm Eri, a first year Lampad of Hestia, and this" she said pulling Oni forward, "Is my big brother Oni! He's a Dryad! Nice to meet you!" she had said all this rather quickly and now just stood there smiling expectantly.

Re: Ready for Fun
"Hello, Cedric," she said cheerfully. "It's good to see you again."
But what Phrixos had said was interesting. She'd tried out for this, yes, and lost her left pinky in the process, but hadn't trained at all. But now the new lampad was taking her attention as well. "Hello! I haven't seen you around before. My name's Andrasteia, a second year of Hades and Persephone. How are you enjoying this ceremony?"

Re: Ready for Fun
So the boy answered to Hermes, Phrixos thought to himself. Interesting. He was also walking with a cane. Injured perhaps? Physically incapable. And the spectacles. Somehow Phrixos doubted that close combat was really his best skill. That could be useful. And those warriors with little close combat skills usually had strong magic to compensate. Now all Phrixos had to do was figure out what type.
Phrixos nodded to Cedric. "So you're a fifth year... I guess that means you'll be fighting in the tournament this year. Are you excited?" He asked.
But before Cedric could properly answer, the conversation was cut into by an obnoxious looking Lampad. It was obvious she was a lampad, the lantern hanging off her waist. But she was so annoying. Phrixos gave her a curt, "Hello," before turning back to Cedric, who at least had the decency to bow to him, as was due to his station and his parentage.
Edit: DAMN WRONG CHARACTER>>>> Oh well...

Oni tugged at Eri a bit, giving a low tone to her* "Sister, you shouldn't butt into others conversation, they could've been talking about something serious..."

Re: Ready for Fun
Cedric smiled at the new commoners and turned again to Phrixos to answer his question. "I can't say I'm excited... But I've been training hard to reach my spot. It's not my main goal but I think I should train so I don't fall into disgrace." he said, adjusting his monocule, rather uncomfortable.
"And you are a first year. What specie you said you were?" he asked, curiously.

Re: Ready for Fun
"Oh, it's fine," she said with an easy shrug. "Just chitchat between warriors, eh?" It was fun meeting new people, and she already like the hyperactive Eri with her not so hyper brother Oni.
Talk was interesting, though she could feel excitement for the new year bubbling up within her and wanted to do something. "Would anyone like to dance?" she asked, glancing around at the small group that had congregated.

"Oh lighten up Oni" she said dismissively, turning to the older girl, a fellow lampad from the look of her, who had responded to her; choosing to completely ignoring the grouchy looking boy talking to Cedric.
"Pleasure to meet you! he said happily. "I am now! The whole praying to the gods thing was kinda stiff and boring, but this room is gorgeous! Is it always like this?" she asked looking around the large grand room.
Her face lit up at the mention of dancing. "I would love to dance if anyone is so inclined." she grinned. Dancing was one of her better talents an she was eager to look for a partner and join in the fun.

Re: Ready for Fun
Phrixos surveyed Cedric, with knowing eyes. So he was gathering information as well. Well - to learn secrets one must also give a few secrets away - Phrixos thought, and answered. "I am a nephelae, son of Dion, the great nephelae general" no need to mention his Charis mother. "And yourself?"
He smiled in fake playfulness at Andrasteia. "I must confess, my lady, that the only kind of dancing I do is with knives. I'm sure someone else would consent to be your partner." Actually he was much better with a sword - but there was no reason to let anyone here know that...

She glanced around. "Yeah, everyone tends to go a little overboard when it comes to parties. They're so exciting, I love them."
She pouted playfully at Phrixos. "Oh come on, I'm not the best dancer either. Perhaps we can learn together?" She held her hand out invitingly, lifting one eyebrow.

Re: Ready for Fun
He sighs off what Eri said. Sure, he wasn't very talkative now, and a bit quiet, but being in a new place with new characters, obligation, regulations, and structure, he wasn't sure what he can and can't do. 'Best to keep to himself till he was use to it,' he though.
Oni took note of Andrasteias request. A dance...A ballroom was meant for people gathering up together and dancing along to the music.
Though he sorta kept tabs on everyone, listening to them speak, keeping himself quite till he was offered a moment to reply.

"Awww is the little boy scared to dance?" Eri said, playfully pouting along with Andratseia. "Well that's no fun at all. Hey Oni! Dance with the pretty lady and show the little one how its done!" she said smiling devilishly.

Re: Ready for Fun
Phrixos drew himself up to his full height (5'5'' - but he hasn't hit his growth spurt yet). "I am not scared, nor am I little - you rude lampad. I may not be able to dance on the ballroom, but I'm sure we could go outside and dance the other kind of dance, if you wanted to?" Phrixos' hand went to the ceremonial dagger he had at his waist. It was more showy than his normal sword and knife, but it was still quite deadly. "But you're probably scared..." He turned to Andras, who was watching them. "I'm sure Oni is probably a better partner for you this evening. This one and I have business it seems..."

Re: Ready for Fun
"Hey, lighten up a little," she said. "We're all warriors here, and we might as well get along for as long as we can, right? I only wanted to dance." She frowned, tilting her head to the side. "At least for the rest of the dance. Otherwise, why come at all?"
