Let's Get This Party Starting

Everything was set. There was a stage with over a dozen Satrys on it, even more instruments strewn about around them. The hall was beautifully decorated, on the wall were shields with the symbols of all the Olympians as well as colourful banners and strings, everything was pretty.

Mnemosyne had excused herself from the Ceremony at the last point, where the individual prayers took place and she wasn't needed, to make sure that everything was fine. "Morpheus, you had better be right when you said this would be a good idea," she muttered.

The warriors would be coming in any second now, the Satyrs started playing a traditional Greek song first, tough they had a whole repertoire from 2000 BC to 4000 AD. Mnem sighed, let's get this over with.

Amaranth walked down the brightly light hallway to the entrance of the grand ballroom. She couldn't help but smile as she walked in to see Mnemosyne mumbeling about Morpheus being right about the dance.
Amaranth walked over to Mnem and casually draped an arm over her shoulder.
"What's wrong Mnem, are you not excited about the dance?" Amaranth chuckled.
'The ball room is much larger than I remember, but then again It has been a bit of time since I was a warrior here.'
Amaranth smoothed out the skirts of her gown. She was after all representing the goddess of love and beauty, which beauty is something so had never lacked.
The gown itself was white in color, the neckline was a deep plunging 'V' that hit right at the point of the drop waist. Below the waistline the overskirt was ruffled in a high low hemline and the skirt underneath flowed loosly and away from the body. The top of the dress was held together buy gold and silver pieces that started at the neck itself, a gold chain wraped loosly around Amaranths neck, conected in the middle with a rare blue teardrop pearl found in the deapths of the Adriatic sea, then conected to a sliver piece held together by a gold bead on each side, and then under was a gold chain in the shape of an open heart, three gold bead under that and another blue teardrop before it made contact with the fabric of the waist. The dress had gold and silver patterned embroidery and trim on it to top it off. Amaranth herself hair her hair styled up into a braided bun updo with gold ribon weaved in through the braids, she wore a silver beaded headpiece with the center of it being a large round blue sapphire.

Amaranth smiled.
"Mnem, you should smile more often, and besides, you look wonderful but your going to drag the party down with your sighing and pouting. Cheer up and have some fun."

Mnemosyne smiled. "You look more than worthy to represent the Goddess of Beauty Amaranth. But either way, I'm certain that with you around, this party isn't going to take a hit from me. I'm just a bit doubtful that it's going to work, so many people from different eras in time... Morpheus had better be right." She sighed again before picking up her posture and her smile as the Warriors started to pile in casually.

The music continued into another older Greek folk tune made by Satyrs themselves. Everyone knew those demons had the best parties anyway. "Well, let's have fun then, shall we?"

Anastasia was quickly walking to the grand ballroom, she wasn't sure if Mneme was ready for the horde of teenage warriors to come stampeding into the ballroom. It was only 75 years ago that she was a warrior, so she remembers her own opening ceremony better than most mentors. She saw Amaranth and Mnemosyne standing and talking.

"Mneme, I thought I would come and see if you needed any help....do you uh need help with anything?" Anastasia asked. "Oh, hello Amaranth, don't you look lovely!"

Anastasia looked at her own clothes. She had on a flowing blue dress, with a different color of blue sleeves. Basically she looked like a walking, talking lake...

Andrasteia was waiting a little nervously. She had changed out of her normal formal clothes for the party, because she had been convinced that no girl should really wear pants to a dance, but now wore a reasonable dress with straps and a lower neckling than she was used to. She kept pulling it up, then trying to stop herself.
Despite her nervousness, she was really excited. The red dress suited her, though she didn't really like to admit it, and she had never been to a dance before. Part of her felt like the most naive person in the universe, but that made it all the more fun. And hey, she was allowed to have a little fun, right? Nervously she twisted a strand of her long brown hair in her fingers.

Amaranth smiled.
"Don't give it another thought Mneme."

Amaranth turned around and smiled.

"Oh, Hello Anastasia. How are you?"

Amaranth spotted Andrasteia out of the corner of her eye fixing her gown. Amaranth smiled.
"Would you give me a moment please?"

Amaranth walked over to Andrasteia and gently took her hand and brought her back to Anastasia and Mneme.
"There's no need to stand by yourself."

Amaranth noticed the straps on the dress were looser and that was why she kept having to pull it up.
"Andrasteia, would you like me to fix the straps so yuo wont have to keep adjusting it? I can take it up three or four centimeters and it will be perfect. Then you won't have to be so self consious and it wont even effect the silouette of the dress."

A window nearby flung open as the local lovable math nerd burst in.

"FOR THE LOVE OF DIONYSUS I'M LATE! HOW COULD I MISS SUCH AN OCCASION!" he cried as he ran out the window, only to trip and fall near the lady mentors.

"Ow.."

Morpheus hastily got on his feet and straightened his dark blue bow and messy brown hair, and picked up his new bowler hat off the floor. "Oh... um... hello ladies, you all look splendid this fine evening."

[Mnemosyne]

Mnemosyne startled when a certain satyr ran through a window into the party. She sighed, but smiled widly.

"Oh Morph, there is a reason the Gods gave us doors," she shook her head in mock disapproval. "Late to the party you suggested, it's a pure scandal!"

"You look splendid yourself, is that a new bowtie I spot? Oh Morph, you're terrible overdressed!"

Amaranth giggled.

"Hello Morpheus."

Amaranth turned and smiled at Mneme.
"Mneme, after this is over we should go to the bath house together, you seem like you'd need one, after all you are so very stressed."

Amaranth smiled.
"There's nothing like warm water to relax one's muscles and calm the soul. Don't you agree. Morph? may I call you Morph?"

Morpheus' face turned red as he looked down and adjusted the dark blue bowtie. "Well, erm, uh, yes. Yes it is. And yes, I realize I'm a bit overdressed, but this is a special occasion. I just hope I don't ruin my hat like I did my last one." He gestured towards the small horns protruding from his head beneath his hair.

"I would have been here earlier, but I found out that blasted cook was hiding my tea. The nerve of that man!" Morph shook his head in disgust.

"Oh, yes, Miss Amaranth -is it Miss or Mrs.? - please call me Morph. I'm more of swim in the lake kind of guy myself, the hot waters here sometimes irritate my skin, but occasionally a warm bath is exactly what the soul needs."

[Mnemosyne]

"Oh the horrid cook, sometimes I wonder why I keep him. Well, Zeus has made it very clear that he stays. He's quite fond of that former warrior of his..." Mnemosyne said. She definitely disapproved of the creepy man, but there was little to do about it.

"Hot waters make his hair go frizzy," Mnemosyne added with a smile. "That and winter time of course, and he gets to static!" She laughed. "Morph, you look wonderful in your blue tie, not overdressed at all. Now have some fun, you're a Satyr after all!"

Amaranth smiled.
"Yes yor tie is lovely. It would be a sight to see your fur frizzy Morph, and please I insist that you call me Amaranth, no Miss or Mrs are nessicary."

Amaranth looked around at all the warriors having fun and dancing around.
"Mneme, later on when we go to the bath we need to have some girl chat. Not that we don't adore you Morph but you are well, a boy after all."

Amaranth giggled.

"Oh, I quite understand, Amaranth, though I must express curiousity at what goes on during 'girl chat'. And thank you, this is one of my best ties."

"Oh Amaranth makes it sound like so much more than it is. Either way I don't know if I'll be able to go to the baths any time soon, there's so much planning to be done and my children aren't seeing half as much of me as I would like."

Mnemosyne smiled around herself, looking at warriors dancing and talking and socializing. "Ah, I do miss those young years sometimes. Being carefree and able to just dance and have fun. The dance was a great idea of yours, and I'm loving that band of satyrs!"

Morpheus blushed. "Uh, thank you Mnem. They are quite good aren't they? No one can throw a party like a satyr!" He chuckled and looked out at the crowd of young warriors.

"I too cherish those carefree years, but now we have a responsibility to ensure that these warriors become the best they can be. Or at least we can try." He shrugged and sipped his tea, which he smuggled in because he had feeling the cook would conveniently forget the tea. Which he did.

[Mnemosyne]

"Ah yes, and it is lovely to see them grow into who they are. It truly is wonderful, as long s you forget the end of the journey." Mnemosyne smiled, sometimes she did feel like a mother of 500.

"Why don't you dance Morph, merry satyr that you are? Show off the party skills of your kind!" She giggled at the little nerd.

As she watched the conversation bounce back and forth, she tried not to giggle. Then she nodded. "Yes, thank you." It would probably still be too low cut, but really, she was being too...uptight about it. Just relax and have fun.
Andrasteia was finding it easier to settle back into her normal state of confidence, and couldn't really wait until she was fully accustomed to her fellows at the Athenaeum.

Amaranth smiled.
"Alright then here turn around."

Amaranth ended up taking the dress up a good inch and a half on the bust line. She took a crimson color ribbon and tied the strapps together in the back and viola the dress was done.
"There ya go, now you dont need to keep pulling it up."

She smiled at Amaranth, glad for the change. "Thanks!" Andrasteia twirled around, looking down at herself. "That's much better."

Anastasia watched as Morph fell into the window and started talking to Mneme and Amaranth. Then Amaranth was fixing Andrasteia's dress. She watched quietly as idle chit chat fell into place.

He walked in, clad in white and gold, a mask covering his face from the view of the warriors and mentors. His eyes roamed the room, searching but not finding. She sighed and walked over to a dark corner his eyes still.

[Mnemosyne]

Mnemosyne was chatting with the other Mentors, being glad that the party was such a success, it really was. There were dancing pairs everywhere. She was quite astonished to see there had even been Gods who had come to enjoy along with their pupils and mentors.

A spark of hope started to come up but she pushed it down. He's stayed away for years, why would he come to you now? She told herself sternly, though she still subconsciously looked around for the familiar strawblonde hair and golden eyes.

He spotted her across the room ina group, a Satyr, a Siren, a Lampad and many other creatures...He sighed. He needed to wait to get her alone. He walked across the room to the otherside, hoping she would see him and follow.

[Mnemosyne]

Mnemosyne's eyes fluttered around, looking for something, anything. These very eyes fell onto a man walking across the room with such grace that could not come from any battle-hardened Warrior. She half-ran toward the figure, although he wore a cloak to hide himself. She was sure she knew that walk, the move of the muscles were so familiar. Too familiar.

She came to a stop in front of him and reached out with her hand, almost touching the mast but not quite. "Are you who I wish you are?"

Apollo looked up, he was Mnem crossing the room over to him, and she stoddd and before he could speak she had asked if he was who she though he was.

Apollo smirked.

She knew.

"It depends, who do you wish I am?"
