Adratos took a deep breath, relieved that Gia and Caolin were gone and nodded to Amaranth.
"yes, let's go away from the crowd for a bit...." he said with a faint smile and kissed Amaranth's cheek, leading the way to the balcony.

Kamoa nodded, holding the mask and replied ."Not as much as I miss my freedom...but I do miss my 'home' ."
She lifted her dress a bit to sit more comfortably. It was heavy and hard to move in.
"I suppose you do..."

'Your...freedom?'
When she lifted her dress a little, Eien can almost swear that he saw her barefooted! But before he could point it out, she said another statement.
"Well... Not quite," Eien frowned a little, placing a hand on one of the bars of the balcony railing, "I left because I felt that the Underworld was my prison..."
He can't say that he didn't miss its inhabitants, though. Leaving the Underworld had also meant leaving them behind--Hecate, Lady Persephone... Uncle Hades... His grip on the bar tightened as he thought about it.
He turned to look at Kamoa again, now looking a little anxious, "Miss Kamoa, don't tell me that you didn't wear your shoes throughout the whole dance."
((Have to go to sleep T^T))

Amaranth smiled as Adratos kissed her cheek, hands still connected as they arrived out on the balcony. Amaranth stared up at the night sky, the full moon shinning down on them. "The moon is just like when we first met." She giggled, remembering the Party for Esidios, when Amaranth and Adratos had first met.
Amaranth smiled and moved into Adratos's arms resting her head on his shoulder she smiled.

Calla sighed quietly and rubbed her forehead. She looked up at the moon before smiling at Jane.
"I'm sorry to leave you so suddenly, but I had probably better get inside. If Lady Aphrodite knew that I was out here rather than inside, she will probably make my life hell," she said, a teasing tone in her voice.
She curtsied politely before walking back inside, listening to the music as she went. She noticed Eien and Kamoa were gone, and she sighed. She looked around, watching everyone dance and smiled to herself as she smoothed out her dress.

Re: A Night of Masks and Mystere.
Dancing to the beat, Elijah stared up at the mask stranger. The mystery surronding him intrigued her, and she found herself lost in his gaze. She couldn't see his eyes, but she was sure he was staring right back at her. She wondered what color his eyes were, what his name was and why of all people to dance with he chose her.
Who is this guy?... she wondered to herself.
She looked around her as they danced. There were couples everywhere, dancing gracefully around the room. She let herself become like a puppet again. Moving where ever the music decide to take her.
"Thank you for...for choosing me as your partner." Elijah's face was beet red, she must have sounded stupid!!

"I do not wish to talk about it, and especially with someone I hardly know," Severa merely said coldly, running her hands through the twine that is her hair, trying to tame it a little. "Now if you will excuse me, I have had enough of the fresh air."
She turned tail and stormed back into the ballroom. Breathing in deeply she tried to control herself. Whatever happened to telling herself she would have fun? That she would dance the night away and not be her despicable self, the one with the walls up higher than she could see.
"Well I suppose there's just no burying her," she mumbled to herself, wandering lost through the crowd of people. She shook her head, banishing the thoughts, and found herself at the refreshment table, and finding Cedric and Sylphaea there.
"We meet again," she told Cedric, and looked at the girl with interest. She'd never spoken much to her, but she knew the girl was blind, and a great musician.
"Sylphaea, am I correct?" she asked, knowing full well that she was.

Re: A Night of Masks and Mystere.
Adonia stood there dumbfounded as the girl stormed away disappearing into the crowd. Looking down she realized she still had Severa's hair ornaments. "Well you've gone and done it again Achlys.... You just can't get along with anyone can you?" she mumbled leaning on the balcony and letting a light breeze caress her face.
"I don't know why you bother with any of this... why did you even come to this-this..." she said looking out over the Athenaeum grounds. She could just see the lake from here.
For a long as he could remember she had always wanted to live on land with other creatures, to learn the things they learned, to make friends.... Maybe she just wasn't cut out for this...
"Maybe I should call it a night" she muttered.

Re: A Night of Masks and Mystere.
Tahi eavesdropped on the party with interest. It seemed like Amaranth and Adratos were getting along quite nicely - even with Amaranth's younger sisters doing their best to get in the way. Auntie Mnem didn't seem like she was having too much fun, but then again the dryad was never one for surprises. Tahi suspected she'd lighten up as the night went along. Tahi was a bit surprised she hadn't found Kal yet - who was sulking in the shadows nearby - hoping that once Amaranth got drunk enough she would reveal where his clothes were hidden - or how to reverse the hair dye. Not that Amaranth could tell him much. Tahi was the one who hid his clothes, and borrowed both the dye and the removal solution.
On the other end of the ballroom Uncle Morph was living it up by the drinks - as Satyrs were known to do. In the corner, a group of students were socializing. Tahi picked up a few tidbits here and there, saving the rest for later, when she had time to listen to their conversations fully. But she did notice that the new mentor - the other Nephelae seemed to be flirting with her younger student. From what she heard of their conversation, he seemed to know her. And she kept talking about freedom - in a wistful voice that made Tahi wonder exactly what her story was. She didn't know the Nephelae personally, but as a rule, Tahi avoided her own kind. If you could call them her own kind. As a half human none of them looked too kindly on her, and seeing as Zeus had asked his Nephelae to make Kal's life (and her life by extention) a living Hades - well, she avoided Nephelae unless she could observe them more first. And Kamoa definitely needed more observing from Tahi's point of view.
Calla was here - reluctantly so - but Tahi had a feeling that by the end of the night she would be happy to have gone to the party. There were even a few guests - and one of them had managed to scare her dear roommate. Tahi decided she liked him for that.
Tahi also eavesdropped on the exchange between Severa and Adonia with interest, and watched as Severa stormed away. Tahi shook her head. You could dress up someone as pretty as you like, but they'll still be the same on the inside. Wandering out to the balcony, she approached behind Adonia, hearing her mutter to herself "Maybe I should call it a night."
"And miss the fun of the party? Don't let that old..." Tahi paused, searching for the right word that she could say without sounding completely rude. "Grumpy Roman, ruin your night. Just be thankful she's not YOUR roommate." Tahi added with an exaggerated pout that showed just how thrilled she was to be Sev's roommate.

Adonia jumped turning to see who was addressing her "Oh! Miss Tahirah! I uh.... I" She brushed her hair away from her face trying to compose herself once again. "I uh... Its lovely to see you again." Her jaw dropped in a rather unlady-like manner "YOU'RE her roommate?" Se turned to look in the direction Severa had fled. "I can only imagine how that must be...." She looked down at the ornaments in her hands "I suppose I should return these to her" She said holding them up to look them over.

Re: A Night of Masks and Mystere.
Tahi watched the girl jump as she spoke, and made a mental note to herself. *not all people have the winds to warn them when people are behind them. not all people have the winds to warn them when people are behind them.* She didn't mean to startle the girl, and blushed slightly, when she responded.
"It's good to see you again too. And yes, I am in fact her roommate. Thankfully my brother travels quite often, so when she's in one of her... moods... I sleep in his room a lot - or Amaranth's."
Tahi looked at the hair ornaments in Adonia's hands, a wicked grin lighting on her face, as an idea slipped into her head. "Or..." she said, trying to keep her face looking innocent - but failing miserably. "You could give them to me, and I'll place them back on her dresser in our room." Tahi grinned - given how successful changing Kal's hair was - she could imagine how fun it would be to do to her dear roommate. Besides, the girl had been really mean to Adonia. She deserved a little... mischief - and if there was one thing Tahi was good at, it was mischief.

Adonia was surprised. "Lord Kallistrates is your brother? It must be handy to be able to sleep where you wish." She said thinking of her insomnia-driven late-night trips to the lake.
"Well..." Miss Tahirah looked just a tad too eager to take the ornaments, but she was Miss Severa's roommate. Surely she would return the jewelry... a Adonia was not eager to have another run-in with the irritable human.
"I-I suppose... i-if it wouldn't be too much trouble for you." She gave the Nephelae a knowing look. "You will be giving them back?... right?"

Re: A Night of Masks and Mystere.
Tahi nodded. "Yup, though we don't look much alike. We're actually only half-siblings, and we both take after our mom's. Mine was from Egypt," she said, motioning to her dark skin, "but Kal's was a proper Nephelae lady, so he's so pale. Though not tonight," she added, her grin widening. "Tonight he's sporting a new look, thanks to yours truly." She laughed. "But it's a mixed blessing. He can be a little... Overprotective. There's a reason there's only one boy in the fifth year." she grimaced.
"Of course I'll return them" Tahi replied - not adding that she might put a spell on them to turn the hair of the next person who put them on blue as well. Sev was being a grump. She deserved what she got. And Kal was going away for a little, so she had his room to hide out in. "They don't really match my style," she clarified, appraising the earrings.

Re: A Night of Masks and Mystere.
"That explains it.... So... that commotion I heard earlier this evening would not happen to have anything to do with his new look would it?" she said with an evil grin.
Her expression turned thoughtful. "I had been wondering about the lack of fifth year boys... you mean... he chased them all out?" She was not aware that such a thing was even allowed.
Adonia was certain the young lady had some kind of trick up her sleeve, but she decided the less she knew about it, the better and did not ask for more information. "They are rather lovely" she commented looking at the jewels. "Its a shame she does not appreciate the efforts made for her." Her face fell. "She always seems so.... so" She faltered, searching for the correct words. "Alone" she finished.

Re: A Night of Masks and Mystere.
Tahi frowned. "They all left," she said sarcastically "of their own free will. Right after he had private words with him. There are only a couple left, and it's only because they've stayed away from me... But." she added, brightening her tone - preferring not to dwell on such gloomy things "I do get my own little revenges after a while. As you can see by his look tonight. Which I... might" she winked as she said the word "have had a hand in."
At Adonia's assessment of Severa, Tahi looked at the girl thoughtfully. It took a while to see through Sev's facade. This siren was smarter than she looked, and she seemed to be able to read people quite well. Tahi turned back to look at her roommate's figure in the ballroom. "She has her reasons..." Tahi whispered quietly. "But some secrets aren't mine to share," she said seriously, in a lower voice than she normally used. "Haven... is just what the name suggests. None of us are here because we were extremely happy in the mortal realms," her voice lightened a bit, taking on the cheery tone Tahi normally used again. "But, you don't see the rest of us whining about it. Carpe diem - seize the fish! Enjoy the time you have. That's what I believe! That's why you should stay and enjoy the dance too. Don't let life get you down!" She twirled in a circle letting the ribbons on her hands and mask and hair flow around her - every bit the cheerful, carefree, dimwitted girl she hoped everyone thought she was.

Kamoa looked down then up at Eien bright red. "Well its just..." She stood up taking a few steps back."High heels really hurt to be walking in."
'I wasn't really planning to dance thats why!'
The poor Mentor didn't know what else to say to the young Lampad. All she could was look away from him.

"Yes I am," Sylphie bowed politely when Severa asked the question, "I believe I haven't made an acquaintance with you."
"Either way, would you come and have some refreshments with us?" She smiled cheerfully as Severa seemed to be a friend of Cedric's.

"Miss Kamoa!" Eien said, standing up.
So that's why she seems to be trying to hide her feet during the dance. Dammit, he should've known better and checked.
"...Are you okay, then?" he asked worriedly, approaching her, "You could have told me and refused..."

"No indeed not. Well my name is Severa Saturnina, Warrior under Ares in the fifth year."
At the question she smiled, actually smiled. The girl had something that just wanted to make you love her. "I would be glad to do so," she responded

Cedric bowed back at Severa when she approached them "Yes, we meet again, always a pleasure." he said with a polite smile.
Cedric watched as the two female introduced themselves and smiled back at Severa when she joined them. "Then, let's get some drinks." he said, as he took both ladies arms, gentleman like, and walked to the table, soon getting three drinks and handing to the girls. "Where you have."

Adratos chuckled lightly and shook his head "Oh please, it was our meeting night but still... there were lots of things I would rather not to remember..." he said still with the faintiest of smiles. He wrapped his arm around her and hold her close and they just watched the moon.

Eien noticed that he seemed to have made her feel very uncomfortable.
"It's alright, Miss Kamoa," he said, placing his hands on her shoulders and his forehead on hers, closing his eyes. "Thank you," he said softly with a gentle voice to comfort her.
The cold winds were blowing--quite strongly, too. So he took off his cloak and wrapped it around her shoulders.
"If you're feeling cold, we can get back inside," the Lampad said with a smile. Then he turned to look up at the sky, "Otherwise we can just be here and look at the moon some more."

Jack had wandered into the hall with his drunken swagger and seemed to go unnoticed. Nobody here knew him and he prefered it that way, since the mask he had stolen covered almost all his face except parts of him smile and scars. Jack was way out of his comfort zone. He was used to docking in ports and rushing straight to the nearest tavern to enjoy heavy drinks, fights, gambling and time with ladies of questionable virtue. Sighing he sat down loosening the clothe around his neck and picking up a nearby drink. "At least they have one thing right" he muttered into the liquid before downing it in one. Then he swivveled on the chair, propped himself by the elbows on the counter behind him and watched bemused by the dancing. "Whats with all the fancy steps, these people have no idea how to dance properly" Turning back to the drink table he searched for any sign of stronger beverages.

Amaranth smiled, and snuggled closer to Adratos, how true, there were many thing from that night that even she would not like to remember. Amaranth turned around in his arms and smiled up at him, eyes no longer on the moon. Amaranth leaned in and claimed his lips in a slow kiss. She broke the kiss slowly and Gazed up into his lovely ruby red eyes. "Adratos I love you." she smiled up at him and then rested her head on his chest.
The breeze felt lovely, the night pleasently cool. Amaranth smiled, "Would you like to go back inside?" It was beginning to get chilly out and she shivered slightly, and cuddled closer to him.
