Adonia considered that for a moment before answering. "I suppose I know what you mean.... It all seems a bit... futile... doesn't it?" she said with a grimace.

Cedric nodded with his head, slightly sad and looked at Adonia. "It seems to be just a game for a few people... funny thing that I just started to worry on the last year." He said with a sad smile.

Aonia smiled. "One can only hope" she said sitting down and dragging a book closer to her, flipping through the pages once more. "I hope you find what you're looking for as well."

"Don't we all hope?" Cedric said with a smile, grabbing another book of history of magic and sighed. He once heard a beautiful though sad sentence that he would always remember. Hope would be the greatest of human forces, if it wasn't for despair.

Addi smiled a sort of sad smile, ceasing her flipping through the book for a moment. "Yes... I suppose we do don't we?" she said resting her chin on her hand as she turned to look at him again.

Cedric looked to Adonia once more and smiled "Like it is mandatory to have hope." he said with a small chuckle, looking around to see if the old gorgon was around.

Adoni giggled "I suppose... though judging from some of the stories I've read recently... it is possible to lose it entirely." She followed his nervous gaze around the room and couldn't help but giggle. "Watching out for Miss Sylphae?" she said giving a quick look over her own shoulder, despite her feigned casual attitude.

Cedric tilted his head, looking to Adonia "Oh? What stories have you been reading, Miss Adonia?" he asked, intrigued and then nodded with a small smile "Yes, I don't want to risk getting kicked out of the library!" he said, chuckling more.

"Well.." she said thinking hard trying to remember the titles. "I read this one... Romeo and Juliette... it was rather difficult to understand. They used such strange words. And there we're various fairytales and legends, but I can't recall their names ((translation, Kat is lazy after being at work since 8 am XD))." She laughed again. "I do hope she's not THAT strict... We're not being very loud, though I admit the flying books caused a bit of an uproar."

Cedric nodded his head with a smile "I must say Romeo and Juliet is quite a dumb story. At least at the very end... the romance is pretty though." he said, looking to Adonia "He should have checked her breathing, preventing his death but, hey, it's Shakespeare. He's one master!"

"Oh, yes, and it was my fault... I don't want to be kicked out.. I really enjoy books" he said with a soft smile.

Addi grimaced thinking about the ending of the tragic tale. "I did think that was odd... The entire story is really rather sad isn't it? But yes, the romance was nice." she said turning slightly pink.

"Oh now we can't have that. If she comes by, we'll just shush and act like we know nothing" she said giggling.

Cedric nodded "A small flaw on the tale but I know Shakespeare wanted them to die of love... and you can die of overflowing love, it seems..." he said, shrugging his shoulders, thinking about the bride he left back home.

He snapped out of it with a chuckle in response to Adonia "That's quite smart of you, Miss Adonia."

Cedric smiled sadly "Well, when I was a little boy I used to like a girl. I couldn't call it love, but I did enjoy her company. The problem is that she had to move out and I grew up... eventually my parents decided to marry me with another girl but... I ran away from that chance by coming here." he explained, blushing since he was somewhat embarrassed by this.

Cedric quickly shook his head "No. That's why I accepted Lord Hermes invite to join the Athenaeum... I say curiousity was the first reason but deep inside it wasn't... I couldn't bear be with a lady and not making her happy because I didn't love her..." Cedric adjusted his glasses sadly.
