Addi noticed that he was behaving strangely, and raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong?" she asked, trying not to laugh at the amusingly uncomfortable look on his face. "Are you not feeling well?"

"Hmm nothing it's just... why do you walk around in just scales and water?" he asked truly curious. It just did not match her naive attitude and personality.

Addi cocked her head at him in a manner similar to that of a curious kitten. "Is that strange?" she asked, truly surprised. It was all she had ever had for clothing other than what few little bits of cloth she had salvaged, out of curiosity, from wrecks or from the trash bins of the towns she had sometimes sneaked into.

Addi just stared at him. "A lot? A lot of what?" she said with a contemplative frown. He wasn't making much sense as far as she could tell.

Eos frowned... gah, Addi could be so naive sometimes it was ridiculous.

"A lot of ... uh... skin," it sounded more like a question than a statement, but he was trying.

She looked at her arms, looking completely baffled, then poking the exposed skin on his arms as if doing so might shed some light on the situation. "You have skin showing too.." she said blankly.

((this is faaaaaaar too much fun XD... Poor Eos. Ahhhh Addi... I should have made you a little less clueless for your brother's sake XD))

Eos sighed. He really didn't know how to explain these things, he had never had to. he facepalmed then rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Ahh jeez... never mind Addi. How were your classes while I was gone?" he tried to change the subject.

Addi cocked her head and looked at her arms again curiously, then shrugged and answered "The same as usual... I'm still struggling with fire.. though I can keep a steady flame for as long as an hour now if I really put my mind to it... Water magic is easy..."

She flicked her wrist and a little orb of water formed out of the ground. Twisting the water about idly as she spoke, she continued "Rituals could be interesting...we have to honor Gods other than the Greek ones...." she cocked her head. "I have no idea what to do for that... I guess I'll have to do some research in the library.."

"You're still better at it than I am," he pointed out, then tried to at least spark. Nope. I tiny puff of smoke rose from his outstretched hand, other than that, no signs of fire.

"Hmm? Well that's a little weird. I wonder if anyone will get angry with Mnem for that," he thought out loud. "Athena will probably appreciate the warriors trying to understand other cultures and religions. Apollo probably won't care at all. Zeus though, might be amused or send a lighting bolt depending on his mood... you never know with him."

Addi giggled, taking his hand in hers. "Now what did I say about finding a beat?"she said putting his hand on her wrist. "Now try again silly."

Adonia shrugged. "I wouldn't know.... I just gotta come up with some god to match to one of them" she said waving a hand in the general direction of the temple. "Then I gotta to honor them" she said with only a slight roll of the eyes.

Eos gently took Addi's wrist, because he needed it to keep the fire thrumming. It was weird, even though he was musical, he couldn't feel a beat in his head, he need to be playing to piano or, well, this. He started a small flame above his hand and it grew and ebbed to the beat of Adonia's heart.

He turned toward her hearing the distaste in her voice. "You really dislike them don't you?"

Addi smiled gently "You should listen to a song in your head whenever you want to use your magic" she said watching the little fire that danced in his hand. "That might help.. I know you could do it" she said with a sly grin.

Addi sniffed derisively, wrinkling her nose in disgust. "That's putting it mildly..." she muttered.

"Hmm, that might work," he admitted, but didn't let go of Adonia's wrist. He'd try it later.

"Oh Addo not all of them are that bad," he said. "Athena is pretty nice when she wants to be," he told her, because Athena was the only one he really cared about.

Adonia gave him a scathingly skeptical look. "How good can she be?" she sighed. "All the other ones seem to just make people miserable... what makes her any different?"
She smiled as she watched Eos' little fire in his hand. "I did learn one new trick with fire..."

Eos shrunk under Adonia's glare. She had a point. Athena had given him a surrogate father, but only so Eos was loyal to her. And it almost worked. He sighed in defeat, then thought of all the better things Athena had done for him, she always helped when he needed her. "She's always there for me," he told Addi with a small smile as he let his fire go out and pulled a jumble of necklaces from his shirt collar. He grabbed the gold and red amulet Athena had given him and showed it to Adonia.

"Oh really? What is it?" he asked curious.

Adonia looked at the little amulet curiously. "Its beautiful" she said eying the number of necklaces he wore. "At least someone's getting some decent treatment from them" she said with a half smile, still looking closely at the pendant. "Did she give that to you?"

"Oh!" Addi grinned and summoned a little flame making it become a mini swirling vortex in her palm. "Its kinda like how I can make a whirlpool in water..." she said matter-of-factly. "Only with fire"

"Er, yes she did. It's for... it negates magic, or just mind magic I think. Because I can still use healing and fire magic, and you're sitting here using water magic," he explained.

"Well that sounds... dangerous," he said a little worried.

"How so?" she said watching the tiny vortex in her hands swirl and glow. "Its fine as long as I control it..."

"Control being the key word," he said but watched the tiny fire in Addi's hands. Cautiously, as if it was about to bite.

Addi giggled "Then maybe she does have a heart. She's taken pity on you and your little love life." Addi said with a grin.

Addi rolled her eyes. "Its not that big a deal at this size... now if I managed to make a real vortex... then we'd have something to worry about." she said with a wink.

Eos' face got warm, and he curled up his legs, resting his arms on his knees, and his face in his arms, trying to hide his blush from Adonia. She would only make fun of him.

He still kept an eye on the fire, glancing at Addi's hands. "Whatever you say Adonia."

Adonia giggled and let go of her magic allowing the little vortex to fade away, scooting around behind Eos to hug him around the neck and rest her chin on his shoulder. "Awwwwww is Eos feeling embarrassed?" she said poking his pink cheeks, still not completely hidden in his arms.

"N-" His face got more red, Adonia would recognize the sound of his choked lies at this point. He buried his face farther in his arms, staring at the ground. Which he could do now that the fire was gone.

Addi grinned and contained her giggles for the sake of his pride. "Now Eos don't get all upset" she said gently, patting his head in a sisterly sort of way. "Remember what I said the other day?"

She gulped slightly before continuing. "Remember I said to not be so embarrassed and wait to long? Cause you never know how long you'll have with someone..." she said blinking back a single tear. She was NOT going to fall apart again, not now.

She didn't really want to bring up that day, since that had been when she and Eos had had their own fight... but she had meant what she said, and she didn't want to watch her brother stew in loneliness for the rest of his life.
