"I've never approved violence. Ever. Even when I'm here at the Athenaeum, I'm not happy with the fact that I have to fight." he sighed "Even so, Gladiators were great men, no doubt about that, I just think that so many violence wasn't needed."

He nodded, agreeing with Severa "I agree. I feel bad for the animals, especially when I used to work with them."

Kamoa laughed and lifted her hand "Let me show you how..."

Slowly she twirled her hand twice to the left then once to the right.
A gentle breeze guided the fireflies towards the.

"Now give it a try Eien."

Eien grinned confidently, immediately trying it out.

Feeling the wind, he tried to make a small breeze to drive the nearest firefly closer. It seemed to be working at first, although the firefly seemed to be approaching them a little too slowly.

"Come on...," he muttered as he tried to keep his control over the wind current. But the air soon diffused again and the firefly took off, as far as it can get from him.

"... ... ...."

"No violence? Why aren't you in the wrong place then mister Cedric? This place thrives off of violence!" Severa couldn't help but look at him quizically. He could have said no, couldn't he? If she was correct his sponsor was Hermes, who was not quite as strict as some, including hers, could be.

" In any case the Gladiators liked their life just fine, besides the injuries there really wasn't much danger in death, and they got many riches, and the Gods know they got enough women for each night of the year should they wish. No gladiators didn't have a bad life at all," she explained. "And we had to have some sort of entertainment, I am certain your land must have something of the kind as well. Or good theatre perhaps, I always did enjoy the tragedies in the theaters."

"I know this place is based in violence." he sighed but smiled "And yes, I could but I just would miss the chance to meet my ancestrals and to know more about the world. Knowledge is what guided me here. Hermes was kind enough to talk me about this place in a way of culture." he explained. His thrist for knowledge led him there, he had to take the consequences of it.

"Yeah, I know they didn't but that kind of entertainment is not the one I like." he quickly nodded at the word theatre "Yes, yes indeed! I love the plays and, oh the music. Our entertainment is based on that and some races, like horse or dog races."

Hermes smiled softly down at Calla, he had missed her as well. He smiled as Calla kissed him. "I missed you too my little Charis." He kissed her back gently, before pulling away. "Come, lets walk around."

Calla blushed and giggled, hugging his arm securely as she walked with him. "Lord Hermes, I'm just curious, but how were you able to come tonight? You said you got a break, but I don't think Lord Zeus is that willing to just let a god take a break from their job," she said quietly, not sure if she spoke ill of a god or not.

Kamoa smiled. "Here let me help."

Slowly she moves behind Eien and took his hand.

"I will move your hand for you...correctly, but you have to control the wind all right?"

Lifting their hands together she said. "Ready?"

Eien blushed a little, but smiled and nodded.

With Kamoa's help, he directed the wind carefully. He still felt kind of tense at first, but his Mentor's soft touch made him feel more at ease.

He tried to feel the wind, going together and becoming one with it. It was a wonderful feeling.

A firefly which was caught in the air current drifted by slowly. The Lampad made it float over his palms when it flew close enough.

Tarô moved his head a bit to the sides as if negating, but then he put his hand under his mask for a bit and took out a needle. He looked at the napkin and offered the needle to Eli-May. He noticed the liquid disappear, he felt a bit sad, it was an expensive and extremely mellow liquor after all. This was getting dangerous, Tarô understood her curiosity, but he was reluctant to give up on the masquerade.

That was the fun of a masquerade after all, he wasn't only wearing a physical one but also a code of manners and secrecy. Fan movements and sly gestures. Hiding himself behind a facade, keeping his identity a secret and maintaining a smile hiding the corruption within. He just stood up there, enjoying the party, watching the pleased dance of some naughty mannequins while the insane world shattered outside.

Tarô then opened Eli-May's hand slowly and showed her the object she was holding. It was a white feather, an extremely soft and light one. The strange masked dancer stared at Eli-May, his expression was difficult to tell, but the dark holes were firmly set on her.

Elijah stared at the dark ovals in the mask where the man's eyes should have been. It was as if he could see into her very soul. She didn't doubt that. Leaving her gaze upon the stranger for only a minute, she stared at the small white feather. It held so much meaning to her.

It was to her a sign of what she was, whom she had lost and what lay in store for her. Why had he given her such a beautiful feather? Stating the obvious she finally whispered:
"It's so beautiful..." She stared back up at him again waiting to see his reaction.

"You did good." Kamoa whispered in his ear.

She looked over at the ball and sighed.

"We should go back now Eien...You should spend more time with girls of your age."

"Thank you, Miss Kamoa," Eien replied, setting the firefly free again.

"I'm going to make sure I'm able to catch one by myself someday!"

When his Mentor asked him to go back, his face saddened a little and he sighed, "You're right..."

It just doesn't feel the same being with the other girls, but he didn't want to say it straight to her face. Not so soon, at least. Besides, he had probably bothered her enough tonight...

"Well... Let's go."

Kamoa patted his back gently as they both walked away from the lake.
She looked back at the lake before arriving just outside the ball.

"I will tutor you Thursdays, when you are done with all of your classes...Alright?"She smiled putting her mask on.

Eien nodded.

"I really can't thank you enough," he smiled, putting his mask back on as well.

"I'll see you on Thursday, then," the Lampad said, nodding to her and then leaving.

Aimee stood close to the drinks watching the boy leave the pink hair lady behind. An hour ago they danced, talked outside at the balcony, and now they were back.

"That's an awesome mask he has on." She thought while looking at him. Her masked covered the upper part of her face and here eyes where hidden so it was hard for one to guess who she was.

"Keep in mind what brought you here then, if your thirst for knowledge is enough to turn on your nature. Keep that determination in mind, for you might come to need it," Severa advised. She did admire him, the boy who went against what he believed in just for something as simple as knowledge. She just hoped his curiosity wouldn't be the end of him.

"Music! Yes I do adore the music. I especially love the sound of the lyre! There was usually a lyre-player at the parties! What is the music like in Brittania? Did it change much?"

Cedric listened to Severa's words and smiled gently, nodding lightly. Her words were sure wise and Cedric couldn't agree more with them. He needed to focus on his objective.

"The old lyra, I presume? There are still some lyra players but I'm still stunned with the beauty of an harp player. And our music is slightly different from this one. The orquestras are amazing and breath taking!" he explained, humming a song from Mozart.

"Believe me, it's hard to lose sight of your goals here, then again, you're one of the few dropping in late. It'll be your disadvantage, but might also be a blessing."

Severa closed her eyes and listend to his humming, barely heard over the music. It sounded so... different. Yet wonderful. "What was that called?" She asked curiously.

"Oh, believe me I can be quite stubborn when I want to. I won't drift away." he assured her, curious about her next words "What do you mean?"

"Piano Concerto n.21." he said in a slight italian speech. "It's a beautiful song that I don't ever get tired of."

"I mean that the Athenaeum changes you," Severa explained, rather impatiently, there was something she really wanted to do and the explaining was taking away from her time. "I've seen it happen before, and I am no exception, now come!" She took his hand and dragged him through the crowd, all the whole reciting to herself 'Piano Concerto n.21, Piano Concerto n.21,' doing her best to not forget.

When she got to the band of Satyrs she let go of Cedric and approached them excitedly, almost like a child. "Excuse me," one of them looked up as he finished the last notes of the current song. "Do you know a song called..." she glanced back nervously to Cedric, hoping she'd remembered correctly. "Piano Concerto numbeeeeer... 21?!"

The Satyr looked at her disapprovingly as he conversed with his fellows. One of them ran away and came back with something of a dark wooden box with a long neck and strings. He had a strange stick that he ran over the strings a couple of times, which sounded quite odd. Another sat behind a much, much larger box with little pushable keys of white and black. Most of the other Satyrs went back to the instruments they had played before, both familiar and unfamiliar to Severa.

And then they began playing.

Severa closed her eyes briefly, enjoying the opening notes, before smiling at Cedric. "This is it isn't it?"

"Changes you..." he mumbled, thinking about those words. Could this place change him? No, never, he thought. He would be Cedric Oswald, of the Oswald family until he die. He wasn't going to turn into somebody else.

As Severa took his hand and quickly walked to the bang of Satyrs, he blinked his eyes wondering what she was going to ask, until he heard those beautiful instruments, so familiar to him and a wonderful sound came to his ears. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the music, travelling to his childhood and his homeland with a smile on his lips.

He snapped out of it as Severa's voice and before answering he took her hand and started valsing at the music. He opened his eyes and nodded "Yes. This is from Mozart... my favourite composer."

Eien noticed a girl standing alone near the refreshment table. He was pretty sure he had never seen her before. ...Guest? Or maybe another student whom he rarely saw or never met. Well, he thought he should probably get some refreshments himself.

"Good evenin', miss."

"...Alone?" He asked while trying to pick another drink, wondering why she isn't socializing like everybody else. This late into the party, most people had formed groups to converse with, at least...

"Evening..." Aimee replied back to the boy in a low voice. Looking at his direction she nodded. "I...don't know anyone here..."

There was no way she would walk up and ask a random person for a dance. Slowly fanning herself, she asked. " Are you passing your time here well?"

"Haha, it was a Masquerade. I'm pretty sure a lot of people don't recognize each other. We even have guests amongst us," Eien chuckled. He finally decided on a random bottle nearest to him, without bothering to check the labels, being sure that he wouldn't understand any of it.

"Passing the time...? Well, quite but not quite. Sometimes I hope I'm better at talking," the Lampad sighed as he poured the contents of the bottle into a glass.

"Wanna try some?"
