Target Practice.
((The WWW is very useful, I shall adopt it >D ))
Who: Sep Sev and any unfortunate soul wandering by.
When: Early in the morning, before the start of lessons.
Where: The targets at the training grounds.
---
She loved the heavy feel of the daggers in her hand. Arrows were nothing for her, give her the heavy, deadly daggers any time. She spun a dagger effortlessly in her hand before throwing it at the target, where the blade embedded a few cm. from the red-painted bulls-eye.
Severa enjoyed the wonderful early morning atmosphere, the clean smell of the world, and dew still wet on the grass. The sun was only a few leagues above the horizon, but it wasn't too cold. Haven never got too cold, unless the Gods willed it so, and that suited Severa just fin.
She took another dagger, she'd brought out five, holding the four of them, now three as she threw another one at the target, and held them in her left hand. The 'woosh' of the weapon was easily heard in the silent earl hours, and this time it hit the edge of the bulls-eye, burying itself deeply into the wood.

Re: Target Practice.
It was early in the morning, and Tahi was out on her morning stroll, dressed in a short pale blue chiton. While her brother preferred the night for his own meditation and wanderings, Tahi was much more of a morning person. It was less embarrassing that way. The last couple of times she had tried nighttime meditation she had caught... well... two of the Athenaeum's resident lovebirds at it, and since then she had firmly kept to her morning routine.
Besides, there was nothing like the cool morning breeze, to tell you all about what had happened the day before, while watching the chariots of the sun lord begin their trek across the sky.
But if Tahi was a morning person - her roommate was even more of one. By the time Tahi had woken up, Severa was nowhere to be found. Which was what they both usually preferred.
Tahi was walking along the path by the training area, when she heard a thump. Unless she was very much mistaken, she had just found her roommate. Only Severa would be up this early to do something as awful as train.
Climbing her favorite tree to get a better view, she saw her roommate with daggers in her hand, throwing them with deadly accuracy at a wooden target. If Tahi wasn't worried about being quiet she would have laughed. Sev would be using the only weapon Tahi had any skill with whatsoever. And Tahi used the term skill loosely.
An idea struck Tahi as she watched Severa throw another dagger. This would be perfect practice for her using her wind magic to deflect daggers. Just the daggers wouldn't be aimed at her. And as an added bonus, she might frustrate her roommate a little bit. Drawing on her magic, she waited for Sev to throw another dagger, poised to use the wind to knock it off target.
Yes - it was definitely a good thing that Tahi was a morning person.

Re: Target Practice.
She was up before the sun raised and she sat watching the sunrise near the lake. It was her favorite spot and Galene wasn't tired at all. Afterall, she was the one to go to bed early so she could wake up to see the sunrise.
As the sun was fully up, she stood up, strolling along the fields and then some sounds coming from the Training Square caught her attention. Who would be up so early but herself? She walked to the square but kept a safe distance since this was a training place- she could risk herself to get hurt.
Her purple, one sleeve only, dress, dragged on the grass as she approached the square and spotted a young woman, training with daggers. She found remarkable her ability of aiming the target and hitting it. Galene decided to watch it through her veil, slightly transparent to her so she could see something.

Re: Target Practice.
Severa threw the dagger, and as she threw it she just knew this was a good one. She got that feeling, as she watched it fly toward her target she smiled, this was a bullseye- Or not.
Without a warning the dagger flew off course, almost against the physics of the thing. Maybe there had been a gust of wind? Severa grumbled as she walked toward the dagger that had fallen almost a meter off-target and pulled it from the ground, wiping the dirt off on the skirt of her dress.
She took a stand toward the target again, aimed, and shot at it.

Re: Target Practice.
As Sev threw the dagger, Tahi's eyes faded to white as she drew on her magic, pushing the wind in the dagger's way - throwing it off course and into the ground. Success - Tahi thought triumphiantly, careful to keep quiet. Her roommate may be a lot of things, but deaf wasn't one of them, nor was stupid (though sometimes...). At any rate, it was safer for Tahi to escape the Roman's notice - and Sev WOULD notice if the tree suddenly started giggling, and it was to early to blame the dryads.
Tahi watched her roommate pick up the fallen dagger, clean it, then return to take another throw. Briefly Tahi considered the fact that it would probably be wiser to let Sev hit a couple before deflecting her again, so she wouldn't get suspicious, but it was just too fun to tease the uptight Roman woman. And really - wisdom was overrated...
Severa shot her dagger again, and again, Tahi blew the dagger off course with the winds, so that it went wide and to the left, dropping to the ground with a dull thunk, clamping her hand over her mouth to suppress her laughter at the expression on her roommate's face.

Re: Target Practice.
Galene tilted her head when the young woman missed by a huge distance the target? And again. And again. Was it just her or she started to miss the target since she came? I can't be a sign of bad luck....
She kept staring and even sat down, wondering what was disturbing the girl so much that she missed the target by that range.
