Adonia began ticking them off on her fingers one by one. "Artwork, violin, harp, swimming, wave running, listening to stories, studying healing, practicing my magic.... I would sing... but my voice is particularly... potent, shall we say.." she said with a nervous grin.

She chuckled, saying, "That's quite a list. Though I really can't blame you, I wouldn't have been able to live if I had nothing to do. That's the worst part of life, boredom. The only way to torture me is to put me in a room with nothing to do at all."

Adonia laughed. "See, that's the beauty of it" she said with a grin. "Even if I were put in a room with nothing at all... heck even if I were tossed into the dungeon I'd have my stories. I can tell myself the stories I've heard from others, or make up my own." she said with a grin.

She thought about this. Jane knew a lot of stories, but she'd always had problems remembering important bits until later and things like that.

So she sighed. "That must be wonderful," she said. "I'm not good at stories."

Adonia shrugged. "It keeps me from getting too lonely" she said as she floated along.

Adonia thought about that. "I don't really think you have to keep them completely accurate when you tell them. Half the fun of stories is making them your own." she said smiling.

"Ah, but I'm not good at that," she said. "I always get all my events mixed up, leave important things out...that's a talent that I'd envy you for, if I was a jealous person."

"Hmmm well if you really want to learn how, maybe you could try telling stories to yourself whenever you're just lying around with nothing to do" she said with a shrug. "It might be worth a shot."

She nodded, thinking about it. "Or maybe I could tell stories through a series of pictures..." she mused, thinking of how she'd remember to keep events in order.

This made Jane chuckle. "Again, try telling that to my art teacher. Ah, but you're right. As long as someone likes it, you don't have to bother about anything else...even if you're the only one that does. Unless you're turning it in for a grade, of course."

Adonia giggled. "Yes, I suppose one does have to conform their artistic tastes when going for a grade, but, otherwise, as long as you are happy with it, don't let anyone else tell you its no good." she said with a smile.

"Or, when you're unhappy with it but someone wants to buy it, let them take it off your hands for you," she said cheerfully. "Get rid of something you don't want and make some money in the process. Win-win situation, that."

She smiled, lying back in the water to float with her limbs spread evenly across the surface. It felt different, after having run on it... "So I guess I do like art. It's so flexible."

"In a way, it's even more limiting. People lose sight of what's important, or decide off of one bad experience that they don't like something and keep searching for something else, even if they don't really need to...or they decide that the choices are too mind-boggling and stick with something they don't particularly enjoy." Jane sighed. "The world just sucks, even if it is fun sometimes."

Addi smiled a sad sort of smile. "I suppose that's so" she said. "I suppose this is as good a place as any to find some purpose" she said smiling. "Even I have managed to find some purpose here." she said looking around fondly.
